The scheme of the Moscow metro is quite complicated. It is not easy for a person who first arrived in the capital to understand it. And in a few years, this scheme will become even more complicated, because every year new stations open. Today, more than thirty are under construction. One of them is the Lefortovo metro station. Where will it be located? Which streets will have exits? What project is it based on? All this we will consider below.

Location on the diagram

The opening of the Lefortovo metro station is planned for April-May 2018. It will be located at the so-called third landing point. So the metro builders called the new line, which runs outside the main ring and includes mainly stations still under construction.

So, from the Aviamotornaya station, located in the eastern part of the city, passengers will be able to go to the third boarding point andget to the metro station "Lefortovo". And if they reach Rubtsovskaya from there, which will open in the same 2018, they will have the opportunity to switch to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. The Moscow metro is being built up and branched out so actively that, perhaps, no one will use surface transport soon.

Architectural features

The future of the Lefortovo metro station refers to shallow stations. It is built according to a standard project. Like other stations of the third landing point, "Lefortovo" will have a quite restrained appearance, without any pretentious architectural elements. In the photo below, you can see what the design of the future metro will be like. However, often the intention of the designers changes in the course of work.

District

"Lefortovo" - metro, which will have only one exit - to Nalichnaya street. According to the original project, the station was to be located along Soldatskaya. But this project did not suit the local residents and was changed according to their urgent requirements.

"Lefortovo" is a metro station located in one of the oldest districts of Moscow. This area belongs to the South-Eastern administrative district. Cash Street in the city existed in the XVIII century. Then it, however, was called Nalishnaya and was located in a slightly different place.

This street was between Hospital Square and New Road Street. But in 1843, a major fire broke out in Lefortovo, after which not only repairs were required, butbut also redevelopment. Cash (or Nalishnaya) Street was removed, but a few years later it reappeared on the map of Moscow. It was already located in a slightly different place, although also in Lefortovo. Where does this name come from? There are several versions. According to one of them, the street was named after a large homeowner who lived in these places.

Soldatskaya Street is not far from the future Lefortovo metro station. Once upon a time it was called Petropavlovskaya. It was named so in honor of the temple, which was built in the seventeenth century. Then there was the Soldier's Sloboda. Hence the modern name. And what is now located where the Lefortovo station will open soon?

Church of Peter and Paul

It was in honor of this temple that Soldatskaya Street was named Petropavlovskaya several centuries ago. In 1613 it was consecrated in honor of Nicholas the Pleasant. The temple was built, like other buildings at that time, from wood. A hundred years after the discovery, a new, stone one was erected in its place.

In this form, however, the Church of Peter and Paul, restored several times, appears before the eyes of Muscovites and guests of the capital and is one of the main attractions of the Lefortovo district.

Vvedenskoye cemetery

This is one of the old cemeteries in Moscow. Like Vagankovskoye, it was opened during the plague. One of the villages located in the eighteenth century on the site of the modern Lefortovo district is Vvedenskoye. Hence the name of the cemetery, which was originally called German, because they buried herepredominantly Lutheran.
