Before talking about who Sergei Odintsov is, let's start with a short introduction. In the early 2000s, Russian reality shows began to enjoy great popularity. "The Last Hero" is an analogue of the original English version of "Survivor", created in 1992, followed by the American version - Survivor. But the Russian name was invented by one of the authors and producers of the program, Sergei Suponev. In total, Channel One aired six seasons. The hosts were such celebrities as S. Bodrov, D. Pevtsov, N. Fomenko, A. Domogarov, V. Menshov, K. Sobchak.

First season

So, the first issue started on November 17, 2001. 16 people were specially selected and landed on one of the uninhabited islands of the Bocas del Toro archipelago, located on the border of Costa Rica and Panama.

The Last Hero project turned out to be the most expensive on Channel One and caused a lot of critical reviews from all sides, however, it was also the most exciting and extreme. The participants starved, participated in difficult competitions and lived in wild conditions, in short, they survived as best they could.

All 16 participants of the reality show were invited to the stage. Sergey Odintsov was declared the winner.

The biography of Sergei Odintsov has very modest information only that he is a customs officer from Kursk, a UIN commando, a man who has been to Chechnya twice and has awards from the president himself.

In his first interview, he said that although it was not easy to stay on the project for a long time without food, the most difficult thing was to vote against fellow tribesmen who immediately had to leave the island. However, Sergei Odintsov learned a lot there, and, first of all, to understand people, to explain their behavior when they commit certain actions. It's hard to be human in an emergencysituations, especially when that kind of money is at stake.

The wisest person, in his opinion, was Inna Gomez, the kindest - Sergey Tereshchenko and Vanya Lyubimenko.

Sergey Odintsov didn't much like to discuss human vices and to identify villains in the game. Since the prize was not a joke after all, some had to use all means to achieve their goal.

After the victory, Sergei's dreams were absolutely normal, as for an ordinary person: to buy an apartment and an Audi car.

10 years later

After ten years, journalists again managed to find out how Sergey Odintsov, “the last hero,” is doing. They wanted to ask him many different questions, especially what he was doing now and where he had spent his millions. However, Sergei Odintsov has not changed at all. How many years have passed, and he still lives with his family in his native Kursk.

Sergey admitted that for the first time after returning from the island he was constantly recognized on the street, but all this unprecedented excitement and signing ended very quickly. According to him, this is not exactly something to be happy about. Life under the microscope gave him mixed feelings.

He left the customs service and went into politics, he was elected to the city assembly.

Dreams come true

He fulfilled his wishes: he bought a three-room apartment and two cars. From the three million he won, he had to give the state 30% of the tax. Taking up constructionown restaurant in Kursk, he realized that this was not an easy task, there was not much money, he had to look for sponsors. Despite all the difficulties, he did not abandon his idea, by the way, this is his wrestling character, now he is actively engaged in the construction of an institution, and has already built a summer playground. Together with the workers, he is engaged in finishing, hammering nails, and laying down communications. The building is moving towards completion. When asked what he would call his restaurant, he replied: "Old Park." At the place where this institution is being built (the territory of the May 1 Park), once there was also a tavern.

Self-improvement practice

And then the conversation turned not about material things, but about what changes had taken place in his life in terms of communicating with people. And he again mentioned that he was lucky to meet such great people as Inna Gomez, Ivan Kushnerev - producer, and then he also mentioned the name of the now popular presenter Mikhail Kozhukhov, who then worked as a journalist on the island. Kozhukhov immediately noted and suggested to Sergei that his thoughts were correct, but he lacked a vocabulary. When he flew to Moscow, they went to a bookstore together, and he bought him a bunch of interesting literature.

Sergey admitted that since then he has been reading all his free time, and is still in the stage of self-improvement and personality formation.

After the project, friends meet very rarely with its participants. Odintsov practically does not correspond with anyone and does not call up, everyone has his own life.

He also said that in October a meeting of participants was held in Moscow, timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the project, but "ours" from the very first, as Sergey himself admitted, very few came.

Major events in life

Despite all these ups and downs, everyday circumstances and the luck of winning, the most important event in the life of Sergei, by his own admission, over the past ten years was the birth of his wife Rita, his second child, Alexander, he is already 2, 5 years old, the first had a daughter Sonya. He wisely summed up that it is a great happiness to be the father of two children.

Sergey Odintsov is the last hero remaining on the project, but it is also worth noting here that he is the hero of not only a popular reality show. In 1994, he participated in the storming of Grozny and was awarded the medal "For Courage" for this. In 2000, while serving in the Airborne Forces under a contract in Chechnya, Sergei Odintsov received a personalized weapon from the President of the Russian Federation for clearing 27 mines under the Rostov-Baku highway.

Sergey Odintsov has now won another very important victory in the elections to the City Council. His voters threaten to ask him to the fullest, but Sergei calmly answers them that after he has lived on the island for several months, he is no longer afraid of anything. He won 40% of the vote and was ahead of his competitors. As a former commando, he claims that he did not have to campaign much for his candidacy, the strong do not need it, and the weak simply will not help.

But be that as it may, the project also played into his hands, he is known in Kurskpractically everything. All dialogues with voters began with conversations about the project, and then it all came down to urgent problems of the townspeople.

Tasks

Now he repairs residential buildings, roofs and porches, some of which have not been repaired for several decades.

Odintsov, among other things, goes to the gym and maintains good physical shape, drives a car without a personal driver and is just getting used to a suit, tie and deputy chair. He says that in his office he does not feel remote from the people, for people he remains “a guy from our yard.”

His wife, Margarita Odintsova, is completely sure that her husband, who is used to coping with all the difficulties on the island, will also cope with the new position.

Deadline

One more detail. In 2007, businessman and politician Sergei Odintsov was sentenced to 1 year of probation. In his car, he was in a hurry to the city meeting, but in the center of Kursk there was a religious procession, and then Sergei drove into the oncoming lane in his car to go around it. Inspector Sergey Gordeev wanted to stop him, but the driver was not going to stop. He hit the inspector with the hood, so that he fell, and he left. Odintsov tried to convince everyone at the trial that it all happened by accident. The investigation went on for 9 months, during which time the deputy and the lieutenant reconciled. Odintsov compensated him for the damage, the amount of which was not disclosed.
