The concept of "etiquette" means the rules of politeness, courtesy, demeanor adopted in a particular society. Types of modern etiquette have evolved over many centuries of the history of civilization. The rules were created on the basis of the experience of many generations.

Most of them are international, as they are observed in almost the same way in all countries. At the same time, the concept and types of etiquette for each state may have certain features. This is due to national, historical, religious and other customs and traditions.

Despite the historical changes that influenced the rules of behavior, universal human norms have been developed that are used by people in certain situations. Etiquette is closely interconnected with the science of morality and morality - ethics. Its practical significance lies in the fact that it gives people the opportunity to use ready-made forms of politeness to communicate with different social strata at different levels.

Also important is the manner of speaking, the ability to maintain a conversation when people communicate with each other. A good interlocutor should understand what he is talking about and be able to express his thoughts in an accessible and interesting way. An educated person should be able to manage his emotions: both negative and positive. This also applies to good manners.

Types of etiquette and their characteristics

1. Court etiquette. This is the accepted order and forms of behavior at the palaces, which are still used in the secular society of countries where monarchs rule.
2. Military etiquette. Rules, norms and manners of behavior of military personnel in all areas of their activities on ships, in units and public places.
3. Diplomatic etiquette. Rules and norms of conduct for diplomats and other officials used at receptions, visits, negotiations, presentations, and so on.
4. General civil etiquette. It is a collection of conventions and traditions,used in communication by individuals of a particular society.

Of course, there are situations in life in which it is impossible to use existing types of etiquette. As the rules have evolved, they have changed, but nevertheless, many of them are the same, since they are primarily based on a respectful and polite attitude of people.

It is worth noting that the norms of behavior in some situations must be strictly observed. This applies to communication at the official or diplomatic level. Otherwise, very serious consequences may arise, up to a conflict between countries. But this does not mean at all that the rules of conduct in everyday life are less important and can be ignored.
