General information about Vietnam

The north of the state borders with China, the west with Laos, and the southwest with Cambodia. Vietnam stretches from north to south for 1,650 kilometers.

The South China Sea washes it with its waters from the east, and from the west - the Gulf of Thailand. The entire length of the coast of Vietnam is 3960 km. The Mekong, Red and Black (Red) rivers flow through its territory.

Division of Vietnam into zones

You can relax in these places all year round. The holiday season ends in one part and begins in another zone. The best corner of this country is undoubtedly South Vietnam, which will be discussed below.

The only factor that interferes with a good rest is the rainy season. In different regions they come at different times. The explanation for this natural phenomenon is the country's location in the subequatorial zone, dominated by monsoons. Central

This is not a suitable period for a beach holiday, as at this time the air temperature is quite low - about + 20 degrees Celsius. The coldest month of this zone is January.

South Vietnam

In the southern part, there is a completely different situation, as the tourist season here lasts from December to April, and the cloudy rainy season from spring (May) to late autumn. Moreover, the humidity during this period fluctuates within 80 percent. Despite this, the rainy season in these places is not entirely terrible, because it rains for no more than 20 minutes intermittently.

South Islands

The long-suffering people of Vietnam have endured many wars throughout their history. It should be noted that the year 1945 is significant in that its next capture by the French took place. However, by this time a new US occupation was already beginning. And the reason was the Tonkin incident (this is an attack by DRV boats on the American destroyers Maddox and Turner Joy).

South Vietnam was under the control of the Americans until April 1975, when the DRV troops occupied Saigon. The war with the United States claimed about 1.5 million soldiers and 4 million civilians.
