Natural anomalies have been a big part of the news for years now. Global climate change began to be talked about back in the 20th century, but now this topic is becoming more and more relevant.
The natural anomalies of 2013 alone brought many problems, the consequences of which people still cannot fully cope with.
At the very beginning of the year, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Syria and Israel were hit by the worst storm in two decades. The authorities were forced to close many municipal buildings, cancel flights and impose a ban on maritime travel. In several places, a snow layer up to 1 m high was recorded. There were also casu alties: in total, the storm claimed the lives of 20 people.
Natural anomalies in February 2013 is a separate issue altogether. As you know, it was in this month that the famous Ural meteorite fell. In many buildings, glass was badly damaged, and a huge number of wounded were admitted to hospitals. Fortunately, the meteorite fell far from populated areas.
More than eighty people were injured in Taiwan in March. It was here that one of the most powerful earthquakes in the last few years with an amplitude of 6,3. The vast majority of injuries are the result of collapsed buildings and fallen objects.
April 2013 is also difficult to call a peaceful month. This time, natural anomalies touched the Midwest of the United States - as a result of the spring flood of the Mississippi River, severe flooding began. Several dams collapsed under the pressure of water, and its level significantly exceeded the norm. Some barges were unable to stop in ports and continued to drift limply. Others have gone completely underwater. However, the natural anomalies in America did not end there.
Just the next month, in May, as many as 76 tornadoes swept through the expanses of the United States, destroying thousands of buildings on their way and killing hundreds of people. The sums required to cover the insurances reach simply huge sizes.
The highlight of June was undoubtedly the disaster in India. As a result of a powerful flood, several thousand people died. However, this was only the beginning. Due to the large number of bodies, an epidemic began, the only way to combat it was to burn the corpses right on the spot. But even such extreme measures were not fully effective: many hundreds of people, among whom were members of the special services, still caught a gastrointestinal infection. The situation was further complicated by the torrents of mud that swept away entire villages in their path.
A heat wave in Japan in July also caused casu alties. 85 people died in the Land of the Rising Sun as a result of heat stroke, many treatedconsequences of overheating in hospitals. The number of such complaints was twice as high as last year.
September was the most difficult month for China. The powerful typhoon Usagi touched many settlements, including large cities. The authorities promptly took appropriate measures: they closed schools, canceled trains and flights. However, it was not possible to completely avoid casu alties: about 30 people died, many buildings were badly damaged. In some areas, waves up to 10 meters high were recorded.
Typhoons continued to rampage in October. According to experts, the damage was caused to at least 7 million people. Less than 10 of them died, and four were declared missing. Electricity went out in many places, roads were washed out, and several dams were breached.
Europe cataclysms are also not spared. At the end of October, the hurricane St. Jude swept through the entire territory of Northwestern Europe. It began in Ireland and reached St. Petersburg itself. The victims of the raging elements were 17 people. The wind speed reached an incredible mark of 120 km/h.
A typhoon hitting the Philippines was a real nightmare in November. At the moment, there is information about a hundred dead, and the bodies of many were found right on the roadsides. At the moment, everything that is needed to restore the area and search for missing people is being sent to the Philippines.
We can only hope that we are not waiting for another natural anomaly today, and the last month2013 will bring us only a festive New Year's mood.
