Ishchenko Evgeny Petrovich was born in Volgograd in 1972. His father served in the police, and his mother was an engineer. From the age of 15, Eugene studied in Moscow. As a result, the election commission refused him, since the documents contained the data of 4 different passports. Because of this incident, his deputy Konstantin Kalachev, who lost the mayor's passport, resigned. True, Ishchenko did not accept her. Kalachev remained vice-mayor, oversaw information policy.

Ishchenko challenged the decision of the election commission. He was upheld by the regional court, which considered the arguments insignificant to refuse registration.

However, the Supreme Court has the last word, which was addressed by the chairman of the election commission and the regional prosecutor. The Supreme Court finally deprived Ishchenkoopportunities to participate in the struggle for the governor's chair.

Criminal prosecution

In May 2006, the biggest scandal in Ishchenko's political career broke out. The politician was arrested. The investigation brought charges under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation at once. Ishchenko was charged with illegal harvesting of aquatic animals and plants, abuse of authority, illegal participation in business activities and abuse of authority.

Subsequently, articles on abuse of authority and illegal extraction of aquatic animals and plants disappeared, but illegal possession of weapons was added to them. As a result of a search in the politician's apartment, live ammunition was found.

The prosecutor's office claimed that the head of Volgograd illegally profited from the Volgograd network of shopping centers "Pyaterochka" and in his personal interests provided patronage to the company "Tamerlan". Ishchenko was taken into custody in the courtroom.

Yevgeny Petrovich resigned his powers only six months later, announcing that he did not want to take ordinary Volgograd residents who were left without the head of the administration as hostages of what was happening, and even on the eve of the heating season.

The trial began in 2007. The prosecutor's office demanded four years in prison for Ishchenko. The court found the politician guilty only on two counts: illegal business activities and possession of weapons. The ex-mayor of Volgograd received a year of arrest. He has already served his term, being in the Volgograd investigativeinsulator.

The investigator in his case was Denis Nikandrov, who, a few years later, was himself accused of corruption in connection with the case of Russian mafia representative Zakhary Kalashov.

After his release, Ishchenko retired from politics and left Volgograd, concentrating on entrepreneurship. He returned to his hometown in 2011. His main goal is to realize the waterfront reconstruction project, which was developed during his administration of the city.

Private life

Ishchenko Yevgeny Petrovich, whose family is quite large, is an Orthodox Christian. He has five children.
