Arbenin Konstantin is a Russian musician, poet, prose writer and soloist of the rock band "Serdolik". He worked as a screenwriter for the television program "Tales of Grandfather Mokey" and as an editor of the documentary film "Unknown Uspensky". In 2009, his children's works were awarded the N. Gogol Medal.
Early life
Konstantin was born in 1968, November 21, in Leningrad. At the age of eight, he became interested in literature, so instead of the typical boyish toys, he asked his parents for new books. Over time, Arbenin collected a personal library. It is curious that most of the works of the school curriculum did not interest him. Konstantin loves to reread Chekhov, Pushkin, Dumas, Conan Doyle, Stevenson and others.
After school, the guy unsuccessfully tried to become a student at a theater university. Then he got a job as a transport worker at Lenfilm and began to compose poetry. In the late 80s he served in the army in the Belarusian city of Borisov. Here he met G. Vysotsky and I. Rothauser. Together, the musicians created several compositions, including "Freddie" and "Wipers". After the army, Konstantin Arbenin wrotelyrics for "Italian Scrambled Eggs" and "Hippie Girl". He did not compose music, because he did not know how to play the guitar.
Group "Winter Cabin"
In 1995, Arbenin created this group, which also included jazz guitarist A. Peterson and A. Smirnov. Soon the artists released a tape album. In 1996, Zimovye Zvery gave its first solo concert. In parallel, Konstantin was engaged in writing dramatic works. In 1999, Arbenin and Peterson held the Mighty Handful festival, at which singing poets performed. With his friend Peter K., he created the plays "Glazier", "Pages of Existence", the novels "Three Quarters" and "Careless Organ Grinder". In addition, they wrote several movie scripts that still remain unreleased.
At that time, Arbenin worked with other groups by selling author's songs (compositions "Parashuram", "Puff-Puff", "My Clothes", etc.). The soloist of the Young Voices ensemble offered Konstantin cooperation. The artists did not work together, but at that time the popular composition “The Fate of a Resident” appeared.
During the 14 years of existence of "Zimovye zvery" Konstantin Arbenin managed to release thirteen albums. In addition, the group worked on musical performances. At the end of 2009, the artists announced the end of their joint activities.
Carnelian
After the collapse of the Zimovye Zvery, Arbenin assembled a new group, which included guitarists A. Spartakov, M. Ivanov, mandolinist A. Belyakov and V. Telegin, who plays the piano anddouble bass. For the first time "Carnelian" performed on March 6 at the St. Petersburg art club "Books and Coffee". The concert program was called "Songs of the same name" and consisted of old compositions by Konstantin.
In 2010, Arbenin picked up the guitar and began to sing songs to his own accompaniment. At the same time, the artist presented his solo album "Songs of the same name", which consists of side projects, live recordings and a studio bonus. In 2011, Konstantin Arbenin, whose photo is located above, together with his wife Alexandra staged a solo performance "Two Clowns". The premiere took place in the St. Petersburg art center PopcornStudio. Musical accompaniment was written by D. Maksimachev. In 2013, the solo performance received a diploma from the Monocle International Festival. To date, the Carnelian group has recorded two main albums.
Literary creativity
Since 1997 Konstantin has been releasing books written by him. “Transit Bullet”, “Tales for Backfill”, “Children's Roulette”, “Room Shoots” and “My Pushkin” were his first works. For some music albums and books, Konstantin Arbenin himself designed the covers and illustrations. Often, his works appeared on the pages of such publications as Technique for Youth, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, Znamya and Murzilka.
The artist defined the genre of his works as a modern fairy tale, because their plot combines the usual childish naivety and realistic elements. In 1998 KonstantinIn cooperation with his friends, he staged the play "Swineherd". A few years later, as a musician, actor and playwright, he worked on the musical Animals Seek Summer.
In 2009, Arbenin's story "Cockroach Paths" was published. The artist is also the author of the stories "Second" and "Two Clowns". In 2013, he presented a book of poems "January 2nd".
Private life
Arbenin Konstantin lives in St. Petersburg with his wife Alexandra. In 2000, the couple had a daughter, Daria. As for the information about family ties between Diana Arbenina and Konstantin Arbenin, it is erroneous.
The artists met in the early 90s and soon became good friends. Diana Kulachenko needed a residence permit in St. Petersburg, Konstantin, in turn, invited her to enter into a fictitious marriage, which was then terminated. After the divorce, the singer decided to leave her last name. Also, there were previously false rumors that Constantine and Diana were brother and sister to each other. To date, the artists have stopped their communication, because their creative and vital interests have become different.
