Alexey Yakubov is a famous theater and film actor, Honored Artist of Russia. In addition, Aleksey Andreevich is an excellent teacher, he was also the first host of the children's television show game "Starry Hour". Known for his work in the theater and cinema, but the actor's personal life remains hidden from prying eyes under a thin veil.
Actor biography
Aleksey Andreevich Yakubov was born on April 12, 1960 in Moscow. From childhood, Alexei was a mobile and rather creative child. At school, he became interested in theater arts, participated in school plays and class activities.
After school, young Alexei Yakubov entered the course of Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov at the State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS).
While still a student of GITIS, a young and charismatic actor, green-eyed handsome Alexei successfully auditioned for director Alexander Mitt and starred in his first film work - the dramatic thriller "Crew".
Alexey Yakubov made his screen debut as Kostya, the father of the child of the main characterfilm by Natalia. "The Crew" is a film that reveals a picture of a terrible earthquake and the events inside the crew of the aircraft, which became bystanders of this nightmare.
After graduating from GITIS in 1980, twenty-year-old actor Alexei Yakubov joined the Children's Musical Theater (DMT). The actor served in DMT for 5 years (until 1985).
Theatrical life in "Satyricon"
In 1985, changes took place in the biography of Alexei Yakubov - he was enrolled in the troupe of the Satyricon Theater. Here Yakubov was able to realize his theatrical talent. He has played many different roles. The head of the theater, Konstantin Raikin, spoke very flatteringly about Yakubov, highly appreciating his mastery of disguise and ability to get used to the role. The head of the Satyricon Theater also noted the extraordinary responsibility and diligence of Alexei Yakubov, called him "an artist in the most serious sense of the word":
On stage, he never does anything at full speed. Easily combines comedy and drama. An absolutely sacrificial person in relation to the theater, with a wonderful sense of humor. His life experience, very different, has significantly expanded his acting capabilities in recent years. From my point of view, he has great pedagogical abilities, which I use by inviting him to teach on my course at the Moscow Art Theater School.
Alexey Yakubov played more than 20 diverse roles in the theater.
He owns the following characters:
- swindler in the play"Faces";
- Tobacco staged by "Mowgli";
- the main role of the King in the children's play "The Naked King";
- manager in "Reincarnation" (according to F. Kafka);
- Shprih in "Masquerade" and others.
The performance "Only Girls in Jazz" was a huge success, in which Alexei Yakubov played together with Tatyana Vasilyeva and Stanislav Sadalsky.
Working in movies
Being an actor of the theater "Satyricon", Alexei Yakubov continued to act in films. He played mostly small roles. But the genre style of the actor's work is very diverse. He had to play both in comedy films (“Private detective, or Operation “Cooperation”, “Shirley-myrli”), and in serious, action-packed films (“D. D. D. Dossier of Detective Dubrov”, where he played the role of a policeman). Alexey Yakubov even has experience in filming an erotic film. He played the role of a detective in the erotic film "Peculiarities of bath policy".
Thinking about working in the cinema, Alexei Yakubov noted that it does not cause any particular difficulties. The experience gained on the stage in the theater allows you to easily get used to the role and perform the work with high quality. But, the actor noted, on the set of a good movie, it can happen differently. Thus, Yakubov preferred the theater, he lived it. An actor needs a job in the cinema only to ensure financial well-being.
In the cinema you use what you have accumulatedin the theatre. With rare exceptions, when you act in a very good movie. Then a semblance of a theatrical atmosphere may arise on the set. But this happens very rarely. And sometimes it doesn't happen at all.
Over time, the attitude of the actor to the cinema has changed. Today, Alexei Yakubov says that film experience is useful for actors, especially beginners. In recent years, Alexey Alexandrovich has been filming mainly in serials. One of the most striking roles of the actor is the director of the circus in the series "Princess of the Circus". The directors of the film initially planned that this character would be dramatic, but Alexei Yakubov insisted on his vision of this hero. As the artist himself said, this character is close to him.
Because he is made of me. At first, on the first shooting days, the directors (and there were 5 of them) were asked to play a melodrama. And then, when they got to know me better, they gave me the opportunity to build my character myself.
In total, the actor's portfolio includes 33 films, including such films as "Paradise Lost", "Killer's Trap", "Voronins", "Step by Step", "Pharmacist" and others.

Yakubov's studentsare delighted with him and are happy to adopt the experience of the famous actor.
Aleksey Yakubov treats each of his works extremely responsibly and scrupulously. He does not allow himself to be lazy and hack - whether it is the main role or episodic, playing on the theater stage or filming a movie.
