There are eight enterprises in total, of which 3 are food processing: a meat processing plant, a bakery, a butter and cheese processing plant.
In the 2000s, the city's industry was significantly restructured: the open-hearth furnaces and blast furnaces of the metallurgical plant were stopped and became inactive facilities. Now the production of this enterprise is based on steel wire rope production.
The city has a metallurgical college and a technical university. There are also humanitarian universities.

Population of Beloretsk
In 2017, the number of residents of Beloretsk amounted to 65 thousand 801 people. The population curve follows that of many other Russian cities, especially those that were industrially oriented and developed rapidly during the Soviet period. So, until 1989 there was a steady increase in the number of inhabitants. Its maximum was reached in 1987 and amounted to 75 thousand people. At the same time, only 8,300 people lived in the city in 1897.
Since 1989, an unsustainable decline in population has begun. Growth was recorded only in 1992, 2000, 2003 and 2010. Now the population brings the city to 246th place among the cities of the Russian Federation.
All these data are provided by the State Statistics Service.
Obviously, the decline in the population of Beloretsk, which has been observed in recent decades, is due to the focus of the local economy on heavy industries, which are now going through hard times. The remaining areas are underdeveloped. This situation contributes to the outflow of residents to larger cities, as well as a decrease in the birth rate, and has a much less effect on the death rate. The immediate reason for leaving may be the lack of suitable work and / or low wages, that is, underemployment of the population of Beloretsk.
In some cities, the depressing ecology associated with the operation of enterprises, as well as increased mortality due to pollution, is a considerable incentiveenvironment. The situation with water and air pollution in Beloretsk is not specially covered in the literature, which is due to the low popularity and size of this city. However, the size of the city is too small so that the single production facilities available there could greatly worsen the environment. In addition, the city borders on the forests of the Ural Mountains. However, due to temperature inversions in winter, smoke from industries can concentrate near the ground, which can increase air pollution.
Ethnic composition of the population
Representatives of different nationalities live in the city. The high dominance of the Russian population, as in the cities of central Russia, is not here. The share of Russians is 69.6%, and in second place are the Bashkirs (18.9%). On the third - Tatars (8.6%). Other nationalities add up to only 2.9%.

Vacancies in Beloretsk Employment Center
Jobs atmid-2018 are quite diverse and are mainly related to the non-manufacturing sector. As in many other Russian cities, there are a large number of doctor's vacancies. The salary of medical vacancies is indicated as "from 15,000 to 40,000 rubles", so its true level can only be estimated with a special call.
In other vacancies, the range of salaries is quite significant. In a large number of cases, it is 12800 - 12900 rubles. Less common are vacancies with a salary in the region of 15 or 20 thousand rubles. Jobs for a large amount are rare. The maximum was 30,000 rubles. from an economist.
At the same time, wages are below 12,800 rubles. was not found. Thus, with a good minimum level, in general, salaries in the city are not high.
Conclusion
Thus, the population of Beloretsk demonstrates the dynamics typical of many Russian cities, and its curve has a characteristic convex shape. At the same time, the change from growth to decline occurred here very early - at the dawn of the 1990s. In many other Russian cities, it falls on the beginning or the middle of the 90s.
The city, despite its modest size, has its own employment center. Vacancies are quite diverse, but there are few working speci alties. Salaries are often small, but not critically low. Less often - moderate (by Russian standards). As in many other cities in Russia, the labor market needs a lot of doctors.
