Marina Moskvina is known not only for her writing talent and numerous books for adults and children. For almost 10 years, she met with listeners on Radio Russia in her author's program In the Company of Marina Moskvina, entertaining and philosophical at the same time. And someone was a listener of her master classes, which she also taught for 10 years, being a teacher at the Institute of Contemporary Art, on the development of creative abilities, as well as teaching the art of writing.
About a girl ready for a miracle
Moskvina Marina Lvovna was born in Moscow in 1954. The daughter of a TV journalist and historian, she had an incredible imagination since childhood. Adventure books gave birth to a dream in her to travel all over the world to go through “fire, water and copper pipes”, meet different people, become a real adventurer. And all this so that someday an ancient old woman with a captain's pipe in her teeth and a glass of grog in her hand will tell her grandchildren about her such an interesting life, in which there were such heroic deeds that one can believe in -it's impossible.
Marina Moskvina herself considers her fifth birthday one of the most significant childhood events. It was on this day that she herself rode a tricycle for the first time with the help of Yuri Vizbor.
But dreams lived in the girl's soul. She saw herself as an actress or a successful fashion designer. But they have remained so. Moreover, her small stature did not allow her to enter the theater school.
But she still went on a trip. And whoever she had to be! A cook on exploration expeditions, with which she saw both the Far East and the Arctic, and this at the age of 17. At the time when I was a student of the evening department of Moscow State University (Faculty of Journalism), I had to work hard as a guide in Durov's Corner, even as an editor of the Progress publishing house.
First experience
Her main teacher for many years will be Y. Sotnik, teacher of Y. Akim's literary seminar, where Marina has been studying since 1987. The children's writer and poet Y. Koval became her friend.
Her first fairy tale “What happened to the crocodile” was not accepted by either Akim or Koval at first. Only an excellent cartoon filmed by director A. Gorlinko made harsh critics change their minds. And yet they taught their student another lesson. Her mentors taught her that writing about some distant crocodile hatching a hen's egg is not the best way to talk to your reader. It is much more important if she writes about what she experienced herself, thus putting her soul into her stories.
And then Marina brought the story "Baby" about a little turtle, who actually lived in their house in her childhood, to the mentors' court. The pet disappeared somewhere, and her mother, not wanting to injure the baby, came up with a story about how she gave the turtle to the geologist to take her home to the desert, because she missed her very much. Marina told this story. And it was a fairy tale in which Little, that was the name of the turtle, sent a telegram with greetings from Karakum to his little mistress.
Fairy tales have become the writer's favorite genre. By the way, some of them have been made into cartoons.
M. Moskvina and Murzilka
A certain period of her professional activity is associated with the Murzilka magazine. Here she led a sports column and told the kids the most interesting facts about sports. And then there appeared "The Adventures of Olympionik", a book with stories, riddles, questions, pictures with explanations. Marina herself acts as a cheerful storyteller in it.
The sports section was just the beginning. It was Marina who came up with the idea of creating other equally interesting sections. Such as the “Suitcase” section about aliens and traces of civilizations that have long disappeared, from the materials of which the book “Outside the Window is a UFO, or While the Sacred Burnt Burns”, or the novel “Days of Awe”, or “The Adventures of Murzilka” - a comic book, her and writer S. Sedov joint project.
In all of Moskvina's works, the funny and the serious are side by side: funny stories ending sadly, and sad ones with a cheerful ending. And oftena book that, according to the laws of the genre, must be a drama, causes laughter from readers.
Moskvina's life-affirming work
What principle does Marina Moskvina follow in her books? The stories of this writer are written according to one iron rule: a fairy tale must always end well. On the pages of her books, she arranges a "circus" in which sadness is hidden, and a carnival game appears to replace it, well hiding what is under the mask. So the writer talks about serious modern problems. Her characters never lose heart, and they can't sit idle, they often go where they shouldn't, but they always help anyone who needs help.
The fact that Marina Moskvina, whose biography is presented to your attention in the article, loves her heroes, is also indicated by the fact that they appear in one story or another. Among the most beloved: Shishkina Lenka, Antonov Andryukha, his parents and the dog Kit, just about him the story "Blochness Monster".
And yet the main thing in her works are people, and more often children, regardless of the genre. Among her books is the detective story Don't Step on the Beetle. It seems at first glance that this is a funny story from the life of a children's boarding school, but the problems raised are not at all comic. Lenka, a little girl who dreams of becoming a detective, comes to grips with scoundrels who steal dogs and make hats out of them. So, almost jokingly, in a parodic form, the writer tries to convince people that a person in the world is not the most important, that we need to take care of our smaller brothers. And Lenka is sincerea child with an ironic adult outlook on life.
And she successfully demonstrates these qualities in another story “Let everyone be well”, helping lovers to connect.
As a critic
Her articles as a critic of children's literature are not at all like analysis. Her critical articles are warm living memories filled with humor and presented in a peculiar way. Her teachers, Sotnik and Koval, were especially lucky.
Memories of Yuri Koval "Water with closed eyes" - a solid answer-reflection to the only question of what could have been if there had not been this writer, who is so dear. And about Yury Sotnik - an almost personal story, telling how his books taught her that she should write about her own life, about what you know and understand.
Commandments for yourself
This children's writer, traveler and storyteller, in love with life and people, in her life firmly adheres to those commandments that she once accepted for herself as the norm of life and creativity:
- Love your job.
- Don't consider yourself smarter than children.
- Be sure to have a sense of humor.
- Don't imagine.
- Don't complain if you are not accepted into the Writers' Union.
- Don't grow old.
Marina Moskvina, whose books are filled with love for life and people, has long been a favorite among readers. Let's talk about some of her books.
Marina Moskvina, "My dog loves jazz"
This book of short storiesbrought the writer the title of laureate of the art festival "Artiada of Russia", in 1989 she became the owner of Andersen's international diploma, to receive which she traveled to India, and later dedicated the story "Heavenly slug" to him (the journey).
Sometimes, almost meaningless stories from the face of ten-year-old Andrei still resonate in the souls of children and adults. This book is able to save from a disgusting mood, a real anti-stress, like any story about this boy.
Marina Moskvina, Romance with the Moon
Just a good book. Light. Optimistic. And it surprises how such naive eccentrics manage to survive in the metropolis, and pleases with a happy ending to the story. Because it's wonderful when things end up so well.
Learn to See
As once Exupery, one day Marina realized that it is necessary to learn, first of all, to see, and not to write. She comprehends this difficult, but such a fascinating science together with her students. They walk around Moscow, look at the life of the capital, make acquaintances with people, then write stories…
The most remarkable stories Marina Moskvina collected in this book. Reading them, you understand that every person is talented when he looks and sees.
