Every day we share a huge amount of information. However, our speech is gradually being transformed due to the appearance of jargon in it.
Of course, the formation of social youth movements, subcultures entails the appearance of slang words. So, for example, not everyone knows what "khana" is and where this word came from.
Meaning of the word "Khana"
The Small Academic Dictionary gives the following interpretation: "Khana is death, the end, death." The word refers to colloquial slang vocabulary.
But in the Explanatory and Derivative Dictionary of T. F. Efremova is interpreted as follows: “assessment of any situation as hopeless, losing; end, kaput.”
Where do the "roots" come from?
We often use this word, meaning that khana is the end. And for some reason we don’t even think about its origin. Historians claim that the word is directly related to the Siberian verb "hanut" in the meaning of the abyss, to get lost.
Many are mistaken and believe that between words:khana, khanurik and khanygi are interconnected. However, it is not. Although this is debatable. After all, a hobo was called a tramp, a person who "descended" along the social ladder and idly "staggers" through life. Therefore, there is some similarity. However, there is still no reliable etymology.
There is another version: the word "khana" has Armenian roots. So it comes from two words: "hee" (why) and "on" (he). Probably, “khana” is “why is he?” This meaning justifies the modern meaning of the word.
Also, the phrase "Khana im" originates in the Bible. That was the name of the Canaanites. Accordingly, the Semitic expression "canaanim" and the Armenian word "khana" can be called synonymous.
How can a word be replaced?
"Hana" is a common and fairly common slang word among the younger generation. However, there is a huge selection of synonyms that can be successfully appealed to. For example, "kapets", "gaplyk", "mat", "sung song", "lid", "kranty", "trumpet".
Of course, being in a modern society, one cannot protect oneself from the involuntary pronunciation of slang words. However, you can control yourself and monitor the beauty of speech. After all, it is precisely the words that we pronounce that reflect our intellectual and cultural level. Keep your speech free of jargon.
