Europe is the cradle of modern civilization, its current world order. Here are some of the oldest (in the sense of continuous history) states of the world. One of the attributes of statehood is the flag. Actually, the flag from Europe served as the basis for creating their own from states in other parts of the world. After all, this is part of heraldry, and its homeland is the Old World.
Flag of Europe - flag of the European Union
The main flag of the continent since the creation of the European Union has been a blue flag with golden stars located in the center in a circle (according to the number of participating countries). However, it does not cancel the national flags of states. And not all of Europe is the European Union.
Record breakers
The oldest de facto flag of Europe is the flag of Denmark (1291), according to legend, fell from the sky on the Danish king during the battle. The youngest is considered the state symbol of the unrecognized DPR. In February of this year, a white eagle "flew" from the flag of the rebellious Donbass. Of the flags of the recognized states, the youngest is Serbian. AT2010 it was updated after the loss of Montenegro.

Where is the border of Europe?
The European countries include the states of Transcaucasia and the island of Cyprus. Geographically, they are not included in this part of the world, but are closely connected with it. For example, holding the first ever European Games in Baku. This event clearly demonstrated that Azerbaijan is a de facto part of Europe. Georgia and Armenia participate in EU programs. Turkey and Kazakhstan parthave their territories in Europe. The states of the Old World include new unrecognized and partially recognized ones, as well as territories with a special status.
