The death of a loved one is a very terrible event that, unfortunately, can happen to anyone. It is impossible to prepare for it, it always takes you by surprise. But in any case, the one who has gone to another world must be paid last respects by contacting a funeral service agency and purchasing everything you need. What is this

A coffin is a special sarcophagus, most often made of wood and upholstered with fabric, in which it is customary to bury the dead. Initially, this word was called the grave itself, but gradually the semantics narrowed. Before considering what sizes of the coffin exist, we briefly learn the main parameters:

• The shape is not quite rectangular, it widens at the head and narrows towards the feet.
• Must have a lid.
• For the manufacture of wood is used: coniferous wood (spruce, larch, pine). Lacquered models are made from walnut, cedar and beech. The price of the product depends on the material used,coffins made of pine needles are considered the most budgetary, while those made of cedar and beech are considered the most expensive.

Upholstery fabric can be used in various colors, most often it is red and blue, but black and white upholstery is also found. And the most expensive models can be decorated with bas-reliefs or a colonnade.

Calculation

Let's consider how to determine the size of the coffin, if the sad event did come. The following information is required:

• Height of the deceased.
• Size.

Next, a simple calculation is made. 15-20 cm is added to the height. The resulting amount is rounded to tens, since the size of the coffin must be a multiple of 10.

In addition, there is a special formula for a more accurate calculation:

((height + 10cm) + (height +20cm)) / 2.

Let's take an example. Suppose the body length of the deceased was 180 cm.

The size of the coffin is determined as follows:

((180+10) + (180+20)) / 2=195 cm. It is necessary to round the figure to tens, it turns out 200 cm.

Please note that the parameters of the coffin can be measured in different ways:

• On the bottom where the product is narrower and shorter.
• At the top, the coffin is wider and longer there.

Information about which parameter is used in measurements should be clarified with the staff of the funeral agency in advance so as not to encounter a discrepancy.

Size Chart

For the convenience of both funeral staff and simplepeople faced with tragic situations, all the coffins are divided into 4 groups depending on the size of the deceased. These are the following types:

• Standard (under size 50).
• "Deck" (52-56th sizes).
• "Special deck" (56-62nd sizes).
• Domovina (64th size and above). Most often made individually according to the size of the customer.

In addition, if you plan to put any things of the deceased in the coffin (such a tradition is very strong in certain settlements), you should notify the staff of funeral services in advance, even before the size is approved.

We have considered the standard dimensions of the coffins, however, in some cases, the final resting place is made according to individual measurements, according to the special requirements of customers. For example, “domovina” models do not have any parameters, since they are always made to order, taking into account the height and size of the deceased.
