After all, if you believe the words of Coco Chanel, this dress is universal, fits everyone, looks stylish and will always support you in spontaneous decisions. So is red, which is loved by all the fashionistas of the world for its brightness and passion.
Creating carmine
If you delve into the history of the appearance of red, then its main characters will be shocking and unexpected creatures. Even in ancient times, paint was created from natural materials - the bark of trees, herbs, flowers, fruits, and even insects. It is the last of this list that are the parents of red. In today's world, most paints are created by chemical bonding, but carmine red pigment is still created from female insects and remains one of the most expensive. This unusual creature is called a cochineal (cactus false shield).
Females of the species in question are collected in the period before laying eggs from prickly pear cacti with a blade or brush, dried and, ultimately, ground into a bright red powder. The resulting mixture is treated with a solution of ammonia and sodium carbonate, and then filtered. The coloring matter itself is carmine, the brightness of which varies depending on the acidity of the substance. So what is carmine red? Usually it is orange, bright red and purple. With the help of lime, more delicate shades are also created.
Carmine staining
Since ancient times, Armenians have used carmine-red dyeing to give color to stiff yarns and fabrics. Thanks to the bright coloring possibilities, miniatures and paintings were painted with carmine. It was used for colorful carpets and tapestries. And thanks to the resistance on the surface and resistance to external factors, objects painted with carmine red paint last a long time. Nowadays, this color can be seen literally on everything and everywhere. But most often real, genuine dye is used in art paints.
Carmine in food products
Carmine red is used not only in the usual household woven items. It can be found as food coloring. For a pink hue, meat products are filled with liquid carmine extract. The same extract replaces part of the raw meat. Carmine powder with vegetable proteins is universal for most products.
The use of carmine-red dye is forbidden in the food of the Jews due to the unacceptable eating of insects. In addition to being used in coloring meat products, the dye can be found in dairy, confectionery and alcohol production.
Some people are allergic to its derivatives, which can cause anaphylactic shock. The E120-E129 group is such harmful dyes that are harmful to he alth. On the territory of the Russian Federation, 5 of them are allowed, and in Ukraine - 4. The most controversial pigment is E122 (carmoisine), which belongs to the group of carcinogens. This means that it increases the likelihood of developing cancer in the human body. In many countries, dye E120 is allowed due to its production from natural products and all other synthetic ones are prohibited.
Carmine in cosmetics
Now carmine red dye is also common for cosmetic purposes. This substance gives cosmetics the right shade, but does not bring much benefit to human skin. For coloring, its possibilities are quite large - creating a palette of colors from light pink to deep red. Carmine allows colored cosmetics to lie on the skin evenly and, in addition to giving a shade, also gives a natural golden sheen, to enhance which titanium dioxide and mica are added. Thanks to these components, cosmetics allows you to create a variety of bright images with pearlescent and metallic sheen. All this contributes to the effect of repelling light, which enhances the color transition.
Red is trendy
Red is one of the world's fashion trends. He has never been forgotten. And already many times designers around the world announcedred is the color of autumn, using it in images as a natural tone.

Among the masters of their craft is the authoritative duo Dolce & Gabbana. Their collection, which made a red revolution, is represented by luxurious floor-length and midi dresses.
These pieces of sartorial art are complemented by pearls, beads and hand-embroidered gold threads. The Italian fashion gods welcome this decision, supporting the presence of shiny elements in combination with carmine red. Of course, the abundance of this color is acceptable at parties and holidays. For work or more restrained events, one red item in a duet with a neutral color is enough. This confirms that a certain amount of red will always be an appropriate accent in any look.
