General Description
The forest park got its name from the former wasteland of Kuchino. The rivers Gorenka, Pekhorka, Chernaya and Chernavka with their numerous tributaries flow here. There are ponds and lakes in the protected area. Most of the Kuchinsky forest park is a nature reserve. Geographically, it is located on the territory of the Meshchera lowland.
Ecological paths and alleys have been created in the park: Central (through the forest), Side, Oblique, Embankment, Gas pipeline, EastSolar, Freedom, Central Transverse (or Library), General, Cilia and Forks. All alleys are unpaved, except for the central one. Today, the issue of building an Orthodox church in the park area is being considered.

Among the vegetation of the Kuchinsky forest park, coniferous trees predominate - pine and spruce. Linden and birch also grow here. These are the most unique forests of centuries of age. The undergrowth is represented by mountain ash, buckthorn, elderberry, hawthorn, and euonymus. Here you can also meet species of herbaceous vegetation that are very rare for the Moscow flora: May lily of the valley, European bathing suit, lingonberries, cranberries, forest forget-me-nots.
This is a place where wild boars, moose, hares, squirrels, weasels, ferrets, ermines, martens feel great. Various species of waterfowl nest in rivers and ponds. Hazel grouse, capercaillie and black grouse live in these places.
Specially Protected Areas
On the territory of the Kuchinsky Forest Park, several specially protected zones have been identified, occupying more than half of the park's territory:
- Rivers Gorenka, Pekhorka and Chernaya with all tributaries.
- Marsh complexes.
- Water protection areas of ponds.
- Resting zones for animal reproduction.
The park in the northwestern part of the territory borders on the ancient estates of Pekhra-Yakovlevskoye and Gorenki.
Revival of the park
Kuchinsky Forest Park Balashikhahas recently been heavily modified. A group of activists from the city of Zheleznodorozhny (headed by General M. Novik and writer A. Batashev) by 2012 began to put in order the forests in several blocks (48, 69, 70) of the forest park. In general, for the entire period from 2012 to 2014, they cleared forests with an area of 35 hectares. Activists estimate that more than 6,000 fallen tree trunks have been removed.
This part of the park in the 19th century belonged to the territory of the old Ryabushinsky estate and was a homestead park that had been completely abandoned since the 70s of the 20th century. The initiative of the activists was fully supported by the Governor of the Moscow Region S. Shoigu, and the first community work day to clean up the forest of the Kuchinsky forest park was held on the first day of July 2012. In total, 15 large subbotniks were held by the residents of Kuchino. The city authorities of Zheleznodorozhny in the spring of 2014 repaired the road in the central part of the park area.
The work to put in order, which was quite actively carried out by civil activists, was awarded the Our Moscow Region award, approved by the Governor of the Moscow Region.
Attractions
