Probably, many have heard of the abbreviation PPA, but not everyone knows its meaning. What is a PPA? This is coitus interruptus. This abbreviation is widely used in gynecology, since science classifies coitus interruptus as one of the ways to protect against unwanted pregnancy. However, if doctors give an unambiguous answer to the question of what PPA is, then their opinions differ as to how effective this method of protection from conception is.
One way or another, but the representatives of the weaker sex are trying to find the easiest way to ensure that unwanted pregnancy does not occur. Among other things, some ladies believe that they do not need to know what PPA is at all, since pharmaceutical manufacturers today offer a whole arsenal of various contraceptives. Yes, this point of view has a right to exist. However, it should be borne in mind that many people prefer to protect themselves, which is called "the old fashioned way", therefore, in order to broaden their horizons, everyone, without exception, shouldknow not only what PPA is, but also how reliable this method of protection against unwanted pregnancy is.
Some experts argue that pregnancy can occur even when there was no ejaculation, but in the process of intimacy a small amount of secretion was released, which contains spermatozoa. And for a fertile couple, this is quite enough for conception to occur.
Currently, doctors, answering the question of whether it is possible to get pregnant with PPA, give a negative answer, since there are no spermatozoa in the "Cooper's fluid". How, then, to explain the fact that in fifty percent of cases, conception occurs even in conditions of interrupted sexual intercourse? Actually there are several reasons. First of all, a man can allow elementary negligence - in a fit of passion, he is able to “miss the moment” and not tell his partner about this.
Secondly, the risk of conception is very high in a situation where the day before, a man had another intimacy and spermatozoa could “hide” in the folds of the foreskin.
Thus, it can be stated with absolute certainty that PPA and pregnancy are quite compatible phenomena.
Of course, it is necessary to predict the probability of pregnancy taking into account the day of the menstrual cycle. When ovulation occurs, the risk of conceiving a child increases significantly.
If you do not doubt that you are such a prospectunequivocally does not affect, it will not be superfluous to analyze the situation again. Undoubtedly, the risk of becoming pregnant with interrupted intercourse is small, but at the psychological level, this method of contraception is not always experienced by both partners easily. A woman is often haunted by the idea that she is able to get pregnant with PAP. Among other things, she is afraid that under such circumstances there may be a delay. A man, instead of enjoying intimacy, will focus all the time on not missing the moment of ejaculation.
Unfortunately, practice knows many cases when the reason for the separation of partners was elementary sexual dissatisfaction arising "on the basis" of the PPA.
