Death of Urbansky

Yevgeny Urbansky died on November 5, 1965 at the age of thirty-three. The tragedy occurred during the filming of the film "Director". During the stunt, the car in which Evgeny was was supposed to “jump” according to the scenario. The first take was filmed, but the director offered to make an additional, second one. During it, the car turned over.

If Eugene had leaned forward during the accident, he would have survived. But Urbansky, on the contrary, leaned back in his seat. As a result of the accident, he broke his spine. Yevgeny was urgently taken to the hospital, but they could not be saved. He died forty-five minutes after the accident. His last words were: “How painful…” The daughters of Yevgeny Urbansky were left without a father. The actor was buried at Moscow's Novodevichy Cemetery.
