The start date for capital work is June 14, 2017. Completion is scheduled for the second half of 2019. The new building will have a modern, modernized look and everything you need to comfortably wait for a flight. Instead of the Shchelkovsky bus station on the Shchelkovsky highway, the Central station was opened. Now it accepts all commuter flights. As for regional routes, 32 of them were completely canceled, and the remaining 60 were distributed to other bus stations in the capital.

What will the new Shchelkovsky station be like?

In addition, there is a large underground parking (955 places), as well as cafes and shops. Between the floors will run 4 modern elevators, including those designed for people with reduced mobility.

The building itself will be glass, undulating, with aluminum paneling on top. Such a station will be able to serve about 15,000 passengers and more than 1,600 flights daily. Transport logistics at the entrances to the station will also improve. Before reconstruction, the Moscow bus station served 30,000 people a day. The number of flights was 1,600, of which 23 were international. The message operated with 54 cities of Russia and 15 cities from neighboring countries.

A dozen more bus stations operate in Moscow with less passenger traffic:

  • Kantemirovskaya Station is located on Kantemirovskiy Prospekt in the southern part of Moscow. It works every day from 7:00 to 23:00. Serves buses plying in the Southern District of Moscow.
  • Orekhovo station serves 36 bus routes, including to cities such as Rostov-on-Don, Kislovodsk, Elista.
