Bamboo palm, or hamedorea, is a genus of plants belonging to the palm or arec family. She is unpretentious and shade-tolerant. Under natural conditions, the palm tree grows under taller trees. The name has Greek roots ("chamai" - low and "dorea" - gift) and is associated with the easy availability of fruits hanging low above the ground.

Bamboo palm easily takes root in room conditions. It does not grow as fast as other members of this family. It can bloom, and even at a young age. Its flowers are small, reddish-orange or yellowish-cream, depending on the variety, inconspicuous, collected in paniculate inflorescences. Leaves with long petioles (up to 60 cm), consisting of many lanceolate segments, dark green. The shortened trunk has a bamboo palm. The photo shows all her beauty.

Hamedorrhea can be placed both on the windowsill and in the back of the room, because it can do without bright lighting. And she needs high humidity. Each plant will be more comfortable in a "personal" pot, but gradually the lower old leaves will begin to die off, the trunk will become bare. By this time, root offspring may have grown, which will improve the appearance. But it happens that there are no children for several years. Therefore, it is optimal to grow three plants in one pot, and emerging babies can be transplanted as soon as they develop four leaves.

Bamboo palm can bloom at any time of the year under favorable conditions. When overflowing or underfilling, dry air, flowering does not occur.
