In 1986, society heard about the Soviet student Katya Lycheva. A friendly girl with blue eyes made a worthy replacement for the American "ambassador of peace" Samantha Smith. She traveled to the United States, talked with the head of the country, Ronald Reagan. Katya Lycheva, whose photo was printed by well-known publications, did not have time to give interviews. It was only in the 90s that the girl secretly disappeared, which caused a huge number of various rumors.
Childhood
Katya Lycheva, whose biography began on June 10, 1974, grew up in an intelligent family of science workers. Dad, Alexander Lychev, carried out his activities in a higher educational institution of the world economy. Mother, Marina Lycheva - in addition to being a highly qualified specialist, she is also a candidate of economic sciences. From childhood, parents developed their daughter in every possible way, trying to form a versatile personality: starting from the age of four, she studied a foreign language, studiedin sports sections, at the same time she studied at an English school and attended art classes, and also successfully passed auditions for film roles.
Samantha Smith and Katya Lycheva
Be that as it may, it was not acting skills that gave the girl popularity, but a trip to the USA as a “goodwill ambassador”. It happened in 1986. Her predecessor was the American Samantha Smith, who came to the Soviet Union in 1983 at the special invitation of Andropov. And already in early 1985, a decision was made to organize a return visit. A competition was held, there were about six thousand participants, but the choice fell on Katya. Lycheva's journey through American cities was commented on by Union journalists and US correspondents. Of course, her performances were memorized, and the level of spiritual openness was much inferior to Samantha. Despite this, Katya Lycheva still became a role model for a huge number of teenagers.
Tears of hopelessness
Paradoxically, despite such fame, the girl had absolutely no comrades. Most of her classmates did not perceive her, but only envied her. It was said that out of the huge number of applicants for the trip, she was pushed through the pull - there were talks about the blood ties of the family with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union. In fact, everything turned out to be much simpler: the girl was chosen for her excellent command of the English language and natural charm.
It is possible that her grandmother, who at that time was an employee of the Union of Sovietcommonwe alths and international relations, and her mother worked in an educational institution led by Alexander Yakovlev. In 1986, he became the head of a department of the Central Committee of the CPSU.
And yet the glory that fell on Catherine did not benefit her. Many of her peers moved away from her. The girl studied at school quite well. Often government cars came for her and took her around the cities with a prepared propaganda program. Katya Lycheva went to school on foot with her grandmother, but only the mother, who kept Katya in a tight grip, was engaged in raising the child. It happened that the girl cried from fatigue in the entrance, but still returned home and sat down for lessons.
Up the corporate ladder
In 1988, Katya's mother changed her job, she became the owner of the François Mitterrand scholarship and moved to France with her daughter. The young girl continued her studies at the Sorbonne, but she passed her final exams at her native school. After Lycheva lived abroad, she changed, a lot of pretense appeared in her character, although she was always a truly sincere person.
When her classmates celebrated the anniversary of the school, the girl did not come to the meeting, although the invitation was sent to her. After leaving the Soviet Union, Catherine completely cut off communication with the press. Since there was no information about her, journalists began to invent various fables: either she began to live with a we althy businessman, or she became an elite prostitute.
And the matterit was like this: in 1995, Lycheva became a graduate of the Sorbonne, received a diploma in economics and law. During her studies, her mother became seriously ill. After that, she became an employee of the Assistance Center in Paris.
Purchase of apartments
After Katya Lycheva and her mother moved to live in France, her father quickly got himself a woman. There were rumors that the case was close to a divorce, although everything was kept under great secrecy. In order not to shake the authority of his daughter, Alexander bought another apartment in the same house, and then in the neighboring area. Few people in the yard loved their family. They were given the nickname capitalists. Everyone was interested in the question: “Where did they get so much money to buy apartments?” Indeed, "Soviet people don't go to the bakery by taxi"!..
It's rather hard to say what Katya Lycheva is now. Some of her classmates last saw her about 8 years ago. She drove up in an expensive jeep. The face remained the same, but the extra pounds increased. They asked her about her husband and kids, to which they received the answer that at the moment the woman travels and lives for herself.
Return to Russia
In 2000 Katya Lycheva came to Russia. She served as Deputy Head of the World Community Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, was associated with the Ministry of Industry, and also headed the United Aircraft Consortium. Her last position was vice-president of AvtoVAZ, where, according to journalists from Togliatti, her salary was one million rubles permonth. Catherine was given a luxurious house, but she rarely lived there. She came from Moscow on official transport exclusively on issues related to work.
According to AvtoVAZ employees, Lycheva became vice-president thanks to her good friend Alyoshin. At that time, he was the director of the auto giant and gladly took her to this position. They had very warm friendships. After Boris was removed from his post, everyone was sure that Katya would also leave. And so it happened, she left, but only on maternity leave. He will not return to his workplace soon.
