Every person has his own destiny. Someone lives a very long life, and after death they are quickly forgotten. And someone, living a very short time, leaves behind a trace on the earth, which will be talked about, remembered, admired. It so happened that history knows two people named Fyodor Vasiliev. Each of them has its own life story and its own heritage. It will be interesting to learn about this from the article.

Young talent

In 1850, on February 22, Fyodor Alexandrovich Vasiliev was born in the family of a minor official in Gatchina. It so happened that the family moved with their eldest daughter and one-year-old Fedor to St. Petersburg. The boy's childhood passed in hopeless need on Vasilyevsky Island. Fedor and his older sister (1847) were born outside the church marriage of their parents, and two younger brothers were born after the parental wedding in the church.

Fyodor Vasiliev's talent was revealed in early childhood, when he began to draw pictures from magazines. At the gymnasium hestudied for free - this is the merit of the fact that he sang loudly in the church choir. After the death of his father, 15-year-old Fedor becomes the head of the family, on whose shoulders the care of the family fell. In order to somehow earn a living, the young man goes as a student to Pyotr Sokolov, who worked as a restorer at the Academy of Arts, and in the evenings he studies at a drawing school.

First encounters with artists

Acquaintance with I. I. Shishkin, a recognized master of painting, then with I. N. Kramskoy, with whom friendship would subsequently be established, took place at the drawing school, where they taught. In 1863, the young artist Fyodor Vasiliev came to the Artel of Artists, headed by Kramskoy. Communication and friendship with artists in "Artel" became for the young man the main professional universities in life. By the age of eighteen, Fedor had every reason to call himself a landscape painter. The main role in his choice of artistic direction was played by I. I. Shishkin, the largest landscape painter of that time.

Thanks to studying with Shishkin, Fedor learned to distinguish various forms of nature, to capture the structure of trees and leaves. Shishkin instilled in his student a love of observation. Vasiliev's early landscapes contain a lot of "Shishkin".

At the suggestion of I. I. Shishkin, Fedor goes with him to Valaam to study sketches. At the exhibition in the Society for the Encouragement of Artists, after returning from sketches, Vasiliev's works were exhibited along with the works of Shishkin. The work of Fyodor Vasiliev "On the island of Valaam. Stones" was acquired by a major patron of arts, Count Stroganov. ATfurther, he followed the success of the seventeen-year-old artist and was his patron. Thanks to the first mature works, Vasiliev's name entered the Petersburg artistic life.

Becoming an artist

His mature works - "Village Street", "Return of the Herd" - Vasiliev wrote in 1868. The painting "The Return of the Herd" won first prize in the competition of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists. Summer and autumn of 1869, at the invitation of Count Stroganov, the artist spends in the village of Znamenskoye, Tambov region, where he absorbed the immensity of the steppe and the height of the immense sky. Having moved in the same autumn to Khoten near Sumy in Ukraine, to another estate of the count, he saw a different nature - oaks in three girths that appear in his studies.

Glancing for the first time at the paintings of the artist Fyodor Vasiliev in his studio, Repin was embarrassed, not expecting to see such a mature work of the twenty-year-old artist. According to Repin, this young man had a style of painting with such compositional solutions that did not occur to him, Repin, who graduated from the Academy of Arts.

Last years of life

A person gradually enters the landscape painter's paintings, like a lyrical image. The work "Volga Lagoons" remained an unfinished painting, which attracted everyone's attention at the exhibition of the last paintings of the artist. The painting was purchased by P. M. Tretyakov, as well as a number of other paintings from the artist's heritage, such as "Morning" and "Abandoned Mill".

Tragically shortturned out to be the life of a young gifted artist. An unexpected disease - tuberculosis - overtook him at such a young age. Doctors categorically forbade living in the humid climate of St. Petersburg. The inevitability of moving to the Crimea was not discussed. At first, Fedor worked, but the disease did not recede. Fyodor Vasiliev died on September 24, 1873 in Y alta, where he was buried.

Both the artist's contemporaries and researchers of his work admit that this talented person could have contributed his vision to landscape painting, but early death prevented him from doing so. His legacy is paintings of nature, painted by the soul.

My wife gave birth to 6 twins and 2 triplets. The father of the family owned the genome of "large families". This amazing phenomenon was published by the London magazine in 1783. This is such a huge legacy left by an ordinary Shuya peasant.
