Credo, motto… These words have become fashionable. Although not understood by everyone, especially not everyone is understood correctly. What is a life creed? The motto is a familiar word, what do the motto and credo have in common? We will gradually deal with the confusion.
Forgotten value
Initially, the creed is the Latin name of the prayer "Creed". After all, it begins with the word "I believe", and this is how the word "creed" itself is translated. That is, the meaning of this word was originally religious, and only later it acquired the meaning of a life principle that helps a person cope with various difficulties of reality. The motto is a concept originally secular, having a motivational purpose. Credo does not call anyone to anything - it is a calm knowledge of life.
About the crisis
It is not uncommon for people to start looking for themselves and look into the depths of their personality closer to the age of 40. Then they suddenly realize that they lived for many years with other people's values and did not form their life credo. You can often see examples of such cases among acquaintances, especially those who grew up in Soviet times, when personal development was suppressed, and people lived for the sake of imposedgoals. And now they are trying to find themselves in pseudo-Oriental cults that are created to extract money from naive seekers of truth.
Born inside
What is a life credo? It's just a principle that works in many life situations. Usually, if a person acquires true maturity in a he althy way, then she forms a life credo on her own, these are not mottos from the Internet. A credo must be thought out by a person on his own (even if not created), felt and adapted to realities. Well, what can the creed "Never give up" give you if you have not confirmed it with a dozen observations in life?
Life credo…. from a joke
One of my own credos came about after I heard a joke. And then I realized that he was not talking about life at all anecdotal. In this funny story, a stupid girl asked a genie for big eyes, nails and ears. And then, when he asked why she didn’t ask for we alth, beauty and intelligence, she asked: “What, could it be?”. Since then, this expression has become my credo. I understand that we simply do not take into account the many opportunities in life. And I'm trying not to be that girl.
Time Frame
Personal foundations finish forming by the age of 28. The formation of principles and credo begins at the age of 21 and continues throughout life. But it is precisely at the age of 21-28, when the creative side of the personality is being formed, and most of the beliefs are formed. In ittime a person becomes more self-confident and stronger as a person, learns to resist adverse influences. And in adolescence, life creeds are usually still unsteady, a person voices them rarely and uncertainly. But other people's opinions mean a lot.
It takes a long time to feel and formulate our own beliefs, although society requires us to realize our "mission" almost from the age of 14. This is unrealistic, the human psyche needs to work on its problems for a long time and realize reality in the form of short formulations - a credo.
