In 1998, Sechin writes his dissertation and becomes a candidate of economic sciences on oil product projects.
Since the early 2000s, after Putin became president, Sechin has been working in the Kremlin as the president's chief aide. Well, since 2004 he has a stake in Rosneft and heads the company. Igor Sechin's income is more than twenty million rubles a month.
Since May 2012, he has been the president of Rosneft. During Medvedev's rule, Sechin leaves Rosneft, but Putin brings him back.

In July 2014, he buys shares of the social network VKontakte, surpassing Durov, the founder of the network, in terms of the number of shares. Thanks to this, social networks came under the control of the Russian state.
Private life
Igor Sechin was married twice. He has two children from his first marriage. The first wife of Sechin Igor Ivanovich - Marina, they met in their native Leningrad, while still students. Young people immediately got married.
Daughter Inga was born in 1982, and son Vanya was born in 1989. Both children studied at higher educational institutions in Moscow. Both son and daughter are college educated and hold senior positions in their father's company. In 2005, the daughter gave her father the first grandson, in which Igor Sechin does not have a soul. His wife also adores her grandchildren. At the same time, the union with his first wife quickly broke up, Igor left her a good fortune. After the divorce, they develop a good relationship.
