His father was Naimul Karim, a student from the South Asian country of Bangladesh. He came to East Germany to study chemistry at the Technical University of Merseburg. The idea was that any person in the world could post their video, which was stored remotely on the hosting and was available for viewing at any time by all the inhabitants of the planet.
