From childhood, the boy was distinguished by strength, but he did not differ in the desire for sports. Mikhail Shevchenko's family played a great role not only in life, but also in sports activities. The boy, like all six-year-old children, wanted to run, play with friends on the street. The father, playing sports, gradually attracted the eldest son to training, and then it came to the youngest. Since Mikhail did not have sports enthusiasm, his father and brother caught him right on the street and took him by force to training. As it turned out, noin vain.

Sports career

Initially, Mikhail played football, and then judo. However, he saw that the judokas were sitting still, not going anywhere. Soon he changed the sport, it turned out to be the fateful weightlifting. In Mikhail's hometown, weightlifters were top professionals. They did not stand still, their life was filled with different trips and many competitions. This is what attracted the young athlete. Standing still is not for him.

In any business, you need a competent, erudite mentor who will "get sick" of his work and is ready to do everything to get the desired result. Such was the case with Mikhail Shevchenko. The first coach played a very important role in the development of an athlete. It turned out to be V. A. Lebedev. Thanks to his first coach, Mikhail did not stop playing sports. It was Lebedev who helped the athlete in difficult times.

Since 1992, Mikhail was a member of the Russian national team, in which he was until 2010.

At the age of 19, Mikhail completed the international master of sports standard.

In 1997, Mikhail participated in the European Championship, which was held in Croatia in the city of Rijeka. He competed in the 54 kg weight category. His result is 245 kg. He showed this achievement at the age of 22. At this championship, Mikhail won a bronze medal.

Mikhail also performed in the 56 kg weight category, the best result in which is: snatch - 120.5 kg; jerk - 142.5 kg; the amount is 262.5 kg. It should be noted that a breakthrough in thisweight category is the current Russian record.

At the age of 25, Mikhail received a serious injury, with which he spent 8 months in the hospital. During training, the athlete tore ligaments in the hip joint. Everything worked out with a simple cartilage, Mikhail could walk without surgery, but then he would have to say goodbye to training. I had to go to the hospital.

Time spent in treatment was not wasted. A coach came to Mikhail and conducted classes:

The coach made me jump on one leg, stand against the wall and squat with a disc. I did all the exercises that can be done lying down.

This was not the last injury of the athlete. He also broke his hand right before the competition, but he did not refuse to speak. Mikhail "ate" painkillers and went to perform. No injuries stopped the athlete. Everyone expected a result from Mikhail, but the most important thing is that he himself could not show a bad result. He was confident in himself, in his abilities.

Michael says about himself:

There are heavyweights, and there are flyers. I'm that "flyer". An athlete who competes in the super lightweight division.

For an athlete, the team is the second family. It is very important that she be strong and friendly. Mikhail spoke a little about his team:

The guys from the team have always treated us very respectfully. Watch how you eat, how you sleep. And when I didn’t finish something for the second, I gave it to my big neighbors. They, of course, eat much more. By the way, at all competitions, the “flyer” is placed in the same room with strands. I weigh56 kilograms, and he is 140-150. I remember only one heavyweight who lived in a room alone. 180 kilograms of live weight. This one didn't need company.

Mikhail ended his sports career at the age of 37.

Fateful Defeat

In the career of almost every athlete there are defeats, Mikhail is no exception. In such situations, it is important how the athlete behaves, what his reaction will be, whether his hands will drop.

Mikhail Shevchenko was hardened by his first fight, because he lost it. After that, some would have dropped the case, but not him. The loss was 15 kg (the winner lifted a 45 kg bar).

The athlete himself describes it this way:

I got angry and took the first place in a month.

The faith of one is stronger than the unbelief of a thousand

Mikhail is a short man with a medium build. Many acquaintances did not believe that he was stocky and could really pull the barbell. Another such conversation turned out to be a boiling point, after which Mikhail told everyone that he was playing chess.

Michael's family believes in him. In addition, he himself is distinguished by faith in himself. At one of the competitions, an athlete who performed in front of Mikhail Shevchenko breaks his arm, the bar goes back, and his bone pops out.

This was the first time Mikhail saw that weightlifting could seriously hurt. However, having gathered all his will into a fist, he spoke and took second place.

Fear of injury did not take hold of Mikhail. He was stronger than him.

Sport was a big part of Mikhail's life. Every day, week, months were strictly planned in accordance with the schedule of his training, competitions. Sometimes, of course, there were days when he could afford to rest. However, constant moving, hotels, busy life gradually became boring.

After leaving big-time sports, Mikhail had to completely rebuild his life, which, as it turned out, he really knew nothing about. The first thing he started doing was to train children. Mikhail did not understand why they did not succeed in this or that exercise, it would seem that it was simple.

Soon, Mikhail realized that those who were in the big sport, it is better to work with ready-made athletes, slightly adjusting their work.

Today, Mikhail Shevchenko works as the director of the Children's and Youth Sports School No. 23 in Volgograd.

Private life

The biography of Mikhail Vadimovich Shevchenko is not widely covered. Only a few facts about his sports career are known to readers and fans.

The personal life of Mikhail Shevchenko is practically not covered. It is known that the athlete is married, and in 2009 he had a son, Mikhail.

It is worth noting that the athlete's son, after watching the weightlifting championship, took a mop and made an almost perfect snatch. Later, Mikhail began to go to the hall with his son. However, later I realized that you should not force the child to engage in this sport, because he likes football more. Mikhail supports his son in every possible way and does not discourage sports at all, because it is veryinteresting, eventful life.
