Gaby Hoffmann (photo below) was born in 1982 in New York City to the famous actress and writer Viva and theater actor Anthony Herrera. She did not know her father well, because after her birth her parents divorced, and Gaby and her mother moved to live in Chelsea, one of the most famous hotels in New York. When the girl was 11 years old, they bought an apartment in Los Angeles in a building that was damaged by an earthquake in 1994.
