An architectural monument in the style of constructivism, the former Sporting Palace, the house of culture of industrial cooperation. A place where circles, clubs, studios for children and adults have been operating for more than fifty years, numerous concerts are held. One of the elements of the cultural life of the Northern capital is the Palace of Culture of the Lensoviet.
A bit of history
On the site of the current building in 1910, on the initiative of the owners of the Bashkirov flour mill, the so-called Sporting Palace was built. The main part of the building was occupied by a hall for roller skating, the rest of the space was a concert hall, a restaurant, a cinema.
The building acquired its modern look in the 30s. of the last century under the guidance of architect E. A. Levinson. A theater hall appeared, a bas-relief was made above the entrance, symbolizing music, work and theatrical art. It was supposed to place sports and club areas on both sides of the theater hall, but the project was not implemented. On the north side, a tower 30 meters high was built above the horizontal body of the building. It was originally intended to bebe even higher (almost 50 meters).
Here is the palace of culture of industrial cooperation ("Promka"). In 1960, it was renamed the Palace of Culture of the Leningrad City Council of St. Petersburg. About 50 children's clubs, more than 30 lecture halls and clubs, a winter garden operated on its basis.

Since 2001, the Palace building has been included in the list of cultural heritage sites at the regional level. Currently, it is a popular place for leisure and creative development for children and adults. Two main lines of business:
- organization of performances and concerts;

Arrangement of the hall
The history of the palace's concert hall is quite unusual, because it was actually "built into" the already existing Sporting Palace building in the 1930s. It was a hall with a bell-shaped ceiling for two and a half thousand seats, surrounded by an annular foyer, with two balconies and an amphitheater-parterre.
Today, judging by the photo of the Lensovet Palace of Culture hall in St. Petersburg, this is a location that meets modern requirements for large-scale stage events.
The volume of the stage mirror (the space visible to the viewer) is 17 x 10 meters. The stage is decorated with black velvet, 4-plan backstage, three gates, equipped with a turntable, spotlights and an orchestra pit.
Guests of the Palace note the spectacular interior decoration of the hall and good acoustics.

The range of performances and performances by artists of various genres in the concert hall of the Palace is quite extensive. These are solo concerts of famous pop singers, rock bands and folk groups, as well as dance shows and original stage programs of theater and film actors, media people, comedians.
