Younger Volkov Nikolai Nikolaevich is a popular Soviet and Russian actor. In 1989 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR. He became famous for his roles in the films "Seventeen Moments of Spring", "Sicilian Defense", "War in the Western Direction".
Artist biography
The younger Volkov Nikolai Nikolaevich was born in Odessa in 1934. His father was another popular Soviet actor. Nikolai Volkov Sr. first of all became famous for his participation in the fairy tale film by Gennady Kazansky "The Old Man Hottabych", in which he played the main role.
At one time, the father of the hero of our article had many awards and prizes for outstanding roles on the big screen. In particular, he became an Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR and an Honored Artist of the RSFSR. As we can see, in this moment, the son surpassed the glory of his father, becoming a national.
The younger Volkov Nikolai Nikolayevich decided to follow in the footsteps of his illustrious parent. On the theater stage and film set, he saw himself from early childhood. As a result, after school, he did not go anywhere, but enteredart school in Odessa. It happened in 1956 when he was 22.
At the beginning of the creative path
At the same time, Nikolai Nikolaevich Volkov, the junior, started working. Simultaneously with his studies, he worked at a local television studio. His first profession was directly related to cinema. He became an assistant director.
After studying for two years in Odessa, he decided to improve his acting skills and went to Moscow. In 1958, Volkov entered the famous Shchukin school. He has already emerged from it as a venerable and fairly well-known actor.
Theatrical career
Since 1962, the biography of Nikolai Volkov Jr. has been directly connected with the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. He gave this theater a quarter of a century of his life. And almost all this time he was one of the leading actors.
Only in 1987 Volkov moved to the stage of the Mayakovsky Theatre.
Movie roles
On the big screen, Nikolai Nikolaevich Jr., as his colleagues often called him, first appeared in 1966. In Vladimir Gerasimov's comedy "The Devil with the Briefcase" he immediately played one of the main roles - journalist Mikhail Ivanovich Makarov.
According to the script, Makarov is a correspondent for the regional publication "Rainbow". He is fearless, not afraid of anyone, writes accusatory feuilletons. At the same time, he does not accept sloppiness and laziness. It is with this that he fights in the first place in his accusatory materials. Often sharpthe editor-in-chief of the newspaper in which he himself works is also subjected to criticism. Everything suddenly changes in an instant. When Makarov himself finds himself in the place of the leader, he instantly becomes a completely different person.
After this picture, roles in the war film by Lev Mirsky "It was in intelligence", Fyodor Filippov's drama "Payback", Andrey Smirnov's melodrama "Belorussky Station" followed. In this famous film, Volkov played the director of the plant, the immediate supervisor of the accountant and former radio operator Nikolai Dubinin, played by Anatoly Papanov.
1973 was in many ways a landmark year in the career of the hero of our article. In the military-political drama by Tatyana Lioznova "Seventeen Moments of Spring" he played Erwin Keane, Stirlitz's assistant, the husband of the famous radio operator Kat, who, by a tragic accident, died during the bombing of Berlin by Soviet troops. For his role in this television series, Volkov received a special award - he was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples. With the wording "for merits in the production of Soviet television films and active participation in the creation of the film "Seventeen Moments of Spring".
Dozens of movie roles
Nikolai Nikolaevich Volkov Jr. starred in several dozen films. These films were of the most diverse genre and content. Throughout my career, I had to play both positive characters and fierce villains.
Most of all, the audience remembered the image of Private Nikiforov, which he created in the military drama SergeiBondarchuk "They fought for the Motherland". Also memorable were the characters of Vasily Prokofievich in the melodrama of Adolf Bergunker "Girl, do you want to act in films?", Andrey Kalistratovich in the seven-episode television feature film "S alt of the Earth" by Iskander Khamraev, poet Andrei in the musical melodrama of Alexander Orlov "The Woman Who Sings", teachers of physics Boris Vasilyevich in the family film story of Adolf Bergunker "Grandmother's grandson", the head of the OBKhSS department Viktor Ivanovich Streltsov in the detective Igor Usov "Sicilian Defense", Marshal Shaposhnikov in the war film by Timofey Levchuk and Grigory Kokhan "War in the Western Direction".
In recent years, Volkov mainly starred in TV series, which in the 90s and 2000s flooded domestic TV channels. So, in 1999, he played Posadsky in the political detective thriller by Alexander Muratov "D. D. D. Dossier of Detective Dubrovsky", and in 2001 - the authority of the Watchmaker in Ernest Yasan's drama television series "The Mole".
At the same time, since the mid-80s, Volkov managed not only to play himself on stage and on the set, but also to teach this to others. Since 1984, he was listed as the head of one of the creative workshops at the Shchukin School. He helped more than one student to find himself in the profession.
Private life
Nikolai Nikolaevich Volkov, Jr., whose children also basically followed in his footsteps, was married more than once.
The first marriage he entered into withPeople's Artist of Russia Olga Vladimirovna Volkova (Politova), who took part in several dozen films and hundreds of performances. They had a son, Ivan. The audience knows him by the role of KGB major Protasov in the series "The Executioner" and "Spider".
Vera Viktorovna Volkova, a theater critic by education, became his second chosen one. An ex alted woman, she taught world art culture in one of the capital's schools.
With Vera Viktorovna, the hero of our article raised two sons. Nikolai Volkov became a director. Dmitry Volkov acts in film and theater. He has already played Misail in Vladimir Mirzoev's drama "Boris Godunov". They also had a daughter, Alexandra, who also became an actress.
Nikolai Volkov himself died in 2003. He was 69 years old. On the day of death, nothing foreshadowed trouble, he was discharged from the hospital after suffering leukemia. However, the body, as it turned out, finally did not cope with the disease. The artist is buried at the Vvedensky cemetery.
