General Description

Its construction lasted ten years and was completed in 1993. The creation of a reservoir was carried out for the needsTambov power plant, which was planned for construction. However, the project was not implemented, and it was decided to use the reservoir to improve the water supply of nearby settlements.

Flora

Sugar-white sand lies on the beaches of the Kotovsky reservoir. The eastern shore of the reservoir has a steep structure. It is partly overgrown mixed forest which consists of aspen, birch, hazel, elm, linden and oak. On the western coast there is a pine forest, and its structure itself is not so steep. Willow, willow, alder and euonymus grow at the southern tip.
