South of the modern district of Khimki-Khovrino was once the village of Golovino. Mentions of it are found in official sources from the middle of the 15th century, at that time these lands belonged to the boyar I. V. Khovrin-Golova. The Golovinsky cemetery received its modern name in 1951 after the name of the village. Since the same year, an official archive of burials has been maintained. However, already in 1960, this necropolis was transferred to the department of the State Unitary Enterprise "Ritual" and officially ranked among the cemeteries of Moscow. There is a temple on the territory, it is organized in a building originally built as a ritual hall. The church is active, funerals are held in it and services are held on major holidays. The temple at the Golovinsky cemetery was consecrated in honor of the Holy Tsar Martyr Nicholas II and allNew Martyrs and Confessors of Russia.
