Space is far away for ordinary people. People have tried to conquer this huge space for many years. Secret technologies and fuel were being developed to finally, one day, go out into its open space. Everyone knows Yuri Gagarin, the dogs Strelka and Belka, and, of course, Titov Vladimir Georgievich, a Soviet and Russian cosmonaut. This is a great man who will remain not only in Russian, but also in world history.
Vladimir Titov: biography and family
He was born at the very beginning of the year one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven - the first of January. His father, Georgy Vasilyevich, participated in the Great Patriotic War, went through it and received the rank of colonel. He always taught his son courage and perseverance. His efforts were not in vain for the boy.
Vladimir Titov, after graduating from ten grades, decided to enter the Higher Aviation School of the city of Chernigov. He wanted to stay to study where he was born, so as not toleave the family. After graduating from this school in the seventieth year, Titov received the speci alty of not just a pilot, but also an engineer. Then he entered the University of Marxism-Leninism for evening studies and successfully graduated in the seventy-fourth.
Titov Vladimir Georgievich received the qualification of an officer in combat operations after graduation with honors at the correspondence department of the Gagarin Military Military Academy. This was in 1987.
Here is such an extensive educational biography for Soviet times. Vladimir Titov has been in the cosmonaut corps since 1976, combining training and study. He completed the entire course of general space training. During these courses, he was taught to fly such spacecraft as Mir and Salyut.
Titov's first flight
In 1983, Titov Vladimir Georgievich made his long-awaited first flight. The cosmonaut flew into boundless expanses with flight engineer Strekalov and cosmonaut Serebrov. Passed this flight on the twentieth of April. Vladimir Titov Was the commander of this detachment and the Soyuz T-8 spacecraft.
During the flight, it was planned to dock their ship with the orbital complex, and on board to carry out scientific, medical, biological and technical research. But the Control Center decided to cancel the docking, as there were significant deviations during the approach to the Salyut-7 complex.
Dangerous start
In SeptemberTitov and Strekalov were preparing for the next flight, everything was going well, no one was expecting any surprises, let alone a possible disaster. A few seconds before the ship was supposed to rush through the sky at incredible speed, there was a fire in the launch vehicle. The emergency rescue system worked instantly, saving the lives of two astronauts. The apparatus with people descended not far from the starting field. This flight could have been a real tragedy for the entire Soviet Union.
A year in orbit
After a failed launch, Vladimir Titov has been waiting for a flight for four years. The cosmonaut began his second trip to the stars on December 21, 1987. He was appointed commander of the Soyuz TM-4 spacecraft. Vladimir Titov, cosmonaut Monarov and researcher Levchenko went into space to dock with the Mir complex. Titov led a scientific expedition in this complex, which was already the third in a row. During the stay in the complex, large-scale work was carried out on experiments and observations, and visiting expeditions were accepted. During his stay at the station, Vladimir Titov went out into outer space three times.
In November 1988, Mir took a French crew on board. For three weeks the astronauts worked together, but it was time to return to Earth. So Titov and Monarov set the first world record for being in space in near-Earth orbit. The interval from the minute of start tothe time of return to Earth was three hundred and sixty-five days, twenty-two hours, thirty-eight minutes and fifty-seven seconds. The cosmonauts also returned home on December 21, just as they had started.
Hero of the Soviet Union
A new hero appeared in the Soviet Union - Vladimir Georgievich Titov. The achievements of this cosmonaut for a long stay in space were taken into account and awarded the title of Hero. For the courage shown during the expedition, and the heroism of Titov, he was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal. Vladimir deserved these awards by honest work, risking his life and commanding a detachment.
Titov's marital status
While Titov had to leave the Earth for a whole year and go on an expedition into space, he already had a full-fledged family: wife Alexandra, twelve-year-old daughter Marina and two-year-old son Yuri. The wife, of course, was saddened when she learned that she would have to part with her beloved husband for a year, but she was proud of him and his work. The daughter missed her father very much, she painted spaceships, from the window of which her father waved. She imagined that he was in the sky, right above their house, and constantly sees them. Family means a lot to Vladimir, he loves his wife and children very much. For them, he tries to be a hero not only in space, but also at home, an example for his son and pride for his daughter.
Vladimir Titov is very sorry that his father did not see his flights and achievements, could not be happy for his son. Georgy Titov died long before his son's first flight, at sixty.first year. Vladimir says that everything he managed to achieve in life and astronautics is the merit of his father, his proper upbringing of his son. Dad for George has always been an example. As a little boy, Vladimir liked to look at military photographs of his father. He said that when he grew up, he would also be a hero and become a colonel.
Mother also always supported her beloved son. She gave him all the warmth and kindness, teaching the child honesty and order. Vladimir supported his mother after the death of his father, was next to her in the saddest moments. When the son was awarded for the flight and heroism shown during the expedition, the mother could not hold back her tears of joy and pride.
The wife also supported Vladimir all the time, was tolerant of his frequent and long absences, waited home from work. She supported Vladimir when he suddenly had failures, worried and did not sleep at night while her husband was in space.
Follow-up flights
After his grandiose year-long stay in orbit, Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Georgievich Titov was again waiting for a flight for many years. The biography of his flights became rich after the collapse of the Union. In the ninety-second year, Titov began to prepare for a flight on an American spacecraft under an international program. This training took place at the NASA Center in Texas, again far from home.
The third flight was not very long, it took place from the third to the eleventh of November of the ninety-fifth year. At this point, Vladimir Titov had not been in space for more than seven years. Hewent as a shuttle flight specialist. According to the planned program, they successfully rendezvoused with the Mir complex and approached at a distance of only ten meters.
The next, fourth flight, Vladimir Titov made on the shuttle at the end of September 1997. The plans included docking with the Mir complex, and they successfully completed it. On October 1, Titov went into outer space aboard the shuttle.
On August 20, 1998, Colonel Georgy Titov resigned. But he did not sit in a rocking chair, meeting old age, but went on to work for the benefit of astronautics. After Titov retired from the detachment and from the army, he went to work as a head in the piloting programs department. Since 1999, he has been appointed director of a large international space company for the CIS and Russia.
