The biography of German Titov is interesting literally from the first years of his life. As a child, a little boy was used to achieving his goals. He was even considered somewhat obsessed. After some time, he was already playing films on his own in the village club.

Youth of the future astronaut

After graduating from school, he did not hesitate to tell the Barnaul military registration and enlistment office about his desire to become a pilot. Why Yuri Gagarin was the first

German Titov in the cosmonaut corps was Yuri Gagarin's understudy in preparation for space flight. Why didn't he get the right to become a pioneer? However, despite everything, he officially became an Air Force astronaut in 1961.

The flight of German Titov into space

He flew into space on August 6, 1961. It should be noted that the childhood dream came true with a vengeance: 17 times the cosmonaut circled in near-Earth orbit.

The distance covered was 703 thousand kilometers. I can't believe that G. Titov was only 25 years old at that time! By the way, to this day he is considered the youngest cosmonaut inworld.

Titov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. He was awarded the Order of V. I. Lenin and the Gold Star medal.

Titov considered him a remarkable representative of the young generation of the country of the Soviets, who in childhood experienced the horrors of the war with Nazi Germany. Gagarin studied at a vocational school, was a worker, a student, a cadet of an flying club, and a pilot. It was the path that many of Gagarin and Titov's peers traveled.

Of course, German Titov really wanted to be the first to fly into space. After Gagarin's successful flight, the feelings experienced were very complex: the joy that the flight was successful, and the regret that he was not the first cosmonaut after all.

Not everyone knows that German Titov is an astronaut who spent the first day in zero gravity. His journey was more difficult than Yuri Gagarin's flight.

Medical experts initially doubted that such a flight would not cause physical suffering to the astronaut. However, despite the heavy state of he alth, German Titov retained his composure and reported to Earth thatfeels good.
