Ekaterina Agafonova - presenter and producer of the REN-TV channel, Russian journalist, press secretary of the CSKA team, editor-in-chief of the Russian newspaper "Russian Knight" for military personnel in Syria.

Biography

Agafonova Ekaterina Andreevna was born in Astrakhan on February 1, 1984. It is known that her grandfather, Agafonov Vladimir Afanasyevich, was an honored military pilot of the USSR.

In 1998, as a schoolgirl, Ekaterina first acted as a presenter. She hosted a youth program on local television. After graduating from school in 2001 with a gold medal, the girl entered the public relations department of the Faculty of International Journalism at MGIMO.

Career

Ekaterina Agafonova, after graduating from the institute, got a job at the REN-TV channel, where for the first two years she was an international editor, producer and administrator.

In 2008, Ekaterina asked Alexei Abakumov, the chief editor of the channel, to act as a TV presenter.

Until 2016, she was the host of the news program on REN-TV. Hosted economic news, press reviews, morning and afternoon broadcasts.

In the summer of 2014, Agafonova was included in the sanctions list of journalists who were banned from entering the territory of Ukraine.

A year later, Ekaterina was nominated for the TEFI award in the category “News Program Host”. She was also chosen as the host of this ceremony and one of the persons as part of the rebranding of the REN-TV channel.

Ekaterina Agafonova left television in 2016 and became the press secretary of the CSKA team and head of public relations. Also for her work she received the medal "For Strengthening the Combat Commonwe alth".

In 2017, Agafonova was sent to Syria. There she created and became editor-in-chief of the Russian Vityaz newspaper, which began to be published for Russian military personnel. This full-color weekly publication was of an entertaining and educational nature, so needed by the military, who do not always have access to the Internet.

Also at the beginning of 2017, Ekaterina was mentioned by the media as the head of the public relations directorate of the Yunarmiya (the All-Russian military-patriotic movement). At the end of the same year, as a media adviser to the State Directorate for Work with Personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

From November 1 to December 17, 2018, Ekaterina Agafonova worked as Deputy Head of the Administration of the Governor of the Astrakhan Region. She was responsible for interaction with the media and the information agenda. Then Agafonova returned toMoscow, having resigned of his own free will.
