Absurdity is the boundary of common sense

This seems to be a simple concept. The meaning of this word is intuitively clear to everyone. But to give it a clear definition is not so easy. Absurdity is anything that goes against obvious common sense. Synonyms of this word in Russian are absurdity, absurdity, incongruity.

Absurdity is the anchor of the perception of the world

This concept for the normal philistine consciousness denotes the boundary beyond which madness and delirium begins. And this state of affairs is justified. There is absolutely nothing for an ordinary normal person to do outside of a reasonably justified world. And there is no reason to jump over the barrier that separates the real world from the absurd. Absurdity is madness, and a normal person does not need it at all. But there are only some categories of people who are forced to go beyond the boundaries of common sense. They have a mission. These are all kinds of thinkers, analysts, artists, poets and musicians. Even for mathematicians, this is a very significant and weighty concept. And in controversy there is a very common and effectively working method of conducting a discussion - to bring the opponent's arguments in a dispute to the point of absurdity. This allows you to show the inconsistency of the concept that needs to be challenged. But most often this technique is used when there is a shortage of real arguments. Similar,when there is nothing to object to on the merits of the arguments presented, they usually say only one word - absurdity.

This is a complex and multidimensional concept. It is based on a paradoxical vision of the world, which underlies many phenomena of culture, religion and art.

A lot of absurdity in politics. Both in theoretical justifications and in practical implementations of the ideas of various leaders and Fuhrers. As a rule, in the practical implementation of their ideas, something completely opposite to what was promised is structured.

Surrealism as the apotheosis of the absurd

Absurdity is what underlies several major trends in literature, drama, theater, painting and cinema. These currents found their origin in the logic of the events of the twentieth century. There is a whole "Theater of the Absurd" based on the dramaturgy of such classics as Eugene Ionesco and Samuel Beckett. But the most organic embodiment of the absurd was surrealism, one of the central phenomena in the aesthetics of the last century.

In order to understand and comprehend the meaning of the word absurd, it is not necessary to read dictionaries. It is enough to look through the album with reproductions of the great Spaniard Salvador Dali. This artist became the greatest classic of twentieth century painting. He was able to show the general public how expressive the absurd can be. And how infinite it is in its manifold manifestations. Absurdist images can tell the thinking viewer much more than the expressive means of the previous aestheticsystems.

It is not surprising that the same people stood at the origins of this trend in both painting and cinema. The classic of the genre was the film by Luis Bunuel "Andalusian dog". This ingenious absurdist work belongs to a friend of Salvador Dali, who professed the same views on the world, which cannot be rationally comprehended.
