Currently, every industry uses innovative developments that do not harm the environment. As you know, mobile devices, certain types of transport and electronic (electrical) devices have long consumed solar energy. This time, science has proposed another development - traffic lights powered by solar panels.

Installation of solar traffic lights: effective or not?

In general, modern technologies are the world of combined devices, hybrids. Now everything is produced in a new way: from the simplest lamps to ordinary bicycles. Everything old is already unnecessary, it is discarded, creating modern and new. We can say that the radiation of the Sun penetrates every molecule of matter and every quark of the quantum-vacuum (electronic) world. But is it really necessary, will the effect of implementing these ideas have an effect? Isn't that a Parthian arrow?

In this article, we will consider the main characteristics of solar-powered traffic lights, their advantages and capabilitiesuse in life.

Use in practice

Solar powered traffic lights are widely used in European countries. In Russia, such traffic lights are not so widespread yet. Statistics show that more than 40% of traffic accidents (traffic accidents) are collisions with ordinary pedestrians. This usually happens at crossings where there are no traffic lights.

The reasons for this mismanagement are:

  • lack of autonomous power supply centers; no power cables are laid along highways;
  • Road conditions differ sharply by region.

Only solar-powered traffic lights and mobile power stations can solve this problem effectively. Installation of solar traffic lights and their cost for the regions is quite acceptable. The price depends on the type of device and is approximately 40-50 thousand rubles.

Features of devices using solar energy

Solar-powered traffic light is a technological development that uses the latest advances in alternative energy. It is worth emphasizing: "T7 traffic lights" are short names for any type of autonomous devices that consume solar energy. This designation is used by designers, prescribing these characteristics in technical documentation.

The T7 solar traffic light has a solar panel and LED lamps with optimal light output, as well as high-capacity gel batteries. It is equipped with microprocessorcontrollers that successfully prevent battery discharge (battery discharge).

Installation and installation of traffic lights

Solar-powered traffic light T 7 is installed on roads where there are no cities and villages and on road sections where road repair work is being carried out. They are also placed at pedestrian crossings so that pedestrians follow the rules of the road; at crossings near schools, kindergartens and near educational institutions, where considerable caution is required. Intercity highways, as well as streets in populated areas far from high-voltage power grids, are also equipped with such modern traffic lights.

T7 solar-powered traffic lights (LGM and STGM) are maintenance-free and operate in economical automatic mode. The optimally calculated angle of inclination of the solar panel does not allow snow and other precipitation to accumulate on it. LGM and STGM solar traffic lights are a system that has anti-vandal functions: the structure is made of high quality steel and painted with anti-corrosion powder paint. Such traffic lights work smoothly both in the dark and in the winter season, when the Sun does not shine so much.

Standalone device

An autonomous solar-powered traffic light consists of a panel where the batteries are located, and a T7 traffic light connected to them. This LGM system can also be equipped with an LED lamp. Such a system will be called STGM. Suchtraffic light equipment does not depend on energy, and does not need any other power source, as well as connection to external power networks.

Energy for the installation comes from a gel battery, which is charged by a solar battery thanks to the controller's processor. The power plant is a single monoblock, ready for operation. Autonomous solar traffic lights have a beautiful look. They are painted with high-strength polymer powder at high temperature. Connections in the monobloc design have sealed connectors brought out.

The set of stand-alone traffic light device usually includes: GM power plant powered by the Sun; recommended traffic light T7, but equipment with other types of devices is also possible; fastener elements; durable bracket for fixing; additional sign for the transition; as well as an LED lamp with a motion sensor for the STGM system.

Transport

Solar-powered traffic lights are installed near pedestrian crossings and in areas where construction and road works are being carried out. Transport autonomous devices of the T7A "KOMPO" type are installed on traffic signs. They are mainly intended to mark crossings that are not regulated and require special attention from car drivers to external objects and hazards at night. For this purpose, flashing yellow LEDs are used at night.

Attention! According to GOST, T7 traffic lights attract attention only ifwork in flash mode. They are especially visible at night.
