Sychev Andrey Sergeevich is a Russian soldier who served in the army like thousands of other guys. It would seem that there is something special? But the fact is that the story of the service of this young man shocked the public and caused an uproar. And what happened, we will find out now.
Biography
Andrey Sychev was born on November 24, 1986 in the Northern Urals in the city of Krasnoturinsk, Sverdlovsk Region.
After graduating from school, he entered a professional lyceum in his city, where he acquired the profession of a car mechanic.
In the autumn of 2005, a young man was called up for service in the Russian army. Until December 2005, he stayed at the recruiting station in Chelyabinsk-Yuzhny. Then he was sent for distribution to the battalion of the educational process of the Chelyabinsk Tank Institute. And already on December 30, the irreparable happened in the biography of Andrei Sychev - something that changed the whole future life of a nineteen-year-old guy.
Tragic case in the army
What will go to the army, Andrey Sychev always knew. Avoid serving him even inthere were no thoughts. The guy's mother, Galina Pavlovna, said more than once that it was his duty to the Motherland, repeated that the officers would help him become stronger, as befits a man.
There were many plans: after the army, to help my mother finish building the house, since there were no other men in the family except him (they lived in a barrack). And most importantly, get married and have children. Andrei was very fond of children, he was an excellent nanny for his nephews. But these plans were never destined to come true.
On New Year's Eve, a terrible thing happened that no one could have expected. The old-timers decided to take up the education of the newcomers, of whom there were eight, including Andrey. After drinking a lot of vodka, the soldiers first chased the guy along the parade ground, and then forced him to take a semi-squat position and began to beat him in the legs. They beat smartly so that there were no fractures. In this position, the guy spent three and a half hours.
Four hours later, due to an uncomfortable position and squeezing of the veins, a strong swelling of the limbs and necrosis formed. Andrei Sychev did not tell anyone about the tragedy that happened to him. No one even paid attention, they noticed something was wrong only after Andrei could not leave the barracks.
Consequences of the crime
Everything was kept in deep secrecy. High-ranking officials of the army learned about the incident only after 25 days. The unit commander reported that Private Andrey Sychev was in a military hospital for a completely different illness, in no way related to his service.
The mother's boyfriend never complained about the troubles in the army, onlyasked to be taken home, at least for the holidays. He said he was tired of looking at drunken faces.
Such egregious cases that occurred in the army are extremely rarely known, usually the circumstances of the incident are not disclosed. If the case ends in tragedy, then finding witnesses, establishing the cause and course of events is incredibly difficult. Witnesses are afraid of trouble because they still have to continue their service.
The fact that the fact of the crime was hidden for a long time, and measures were not taken in time, turned out to be more dangerous for the soldier Andrei Sychev than the bullying itself. The silence of the witnesses played a fatal role in the state of he alth of the guy and his future fate.
Andriy was so intimidated that he decided to testify only after the prosecutor provided guarantees for his safety.
Doctors did everything possible and impossible to save the life of a young man. They said there was hope.
As a result - amputation of the legs, organs that are important for human life, and blood poisoning.
Accused of lying
After a terrible incident, the entire public came to the defense of the injured soldier. But the leadership of the army, trying to build at least some kind of protection from false statements, accused the mother of the soldier and Andrey himself of deceit.
The Sychev family was immediately accused of getting an apartment in Chelyabinsk because of some "pathetic incident" that occurred in the service. Rivers of lies flowed violently towards the victim. At the same time, those responsible for the incident began to actively defend themselves. The protection of the uniform has acquired such a glob althe scale that it has become like an information war against its people.
Causes of complications
As it turned out during the treatment, Andrey Sychev had he alth problems even before the army. He had a genetic disease - thrombophilia, which could "shoot" at any time. Both of the boy's parents were carriers of the disease. But before the army, these features of his he alth did not manifest themselves in any way.
Any hypothermia or compression of the limbs could have been a provoking factor. In September, Andrei had boils on his fingers, which could also complicate the situation with his he alth. In addition, the guy has another pathology that leads to bleeding. Working as a car mechanic, Andrey could drop a tool on his finger, and the result would be the same.
Having clung to these facts, army officials began to develop the idea that, in fact, the army is not to blame for what happened. The reason is just genetics. But it is obvious that the draft board sent a person who was completely unsuitable for this into the ranks of the defenders of the Fatherland. And how to explain the fact that the guy was brutally abused, and this was the impetus for the progression of that same genetic disease?
The answer is obvious: the events in the army served as a "red button" to start the disease mechanism. And no matter how someone tried to justify himself, it looked very pitiful and ridiculous.
Court
And then there was the trial. Given the serious condition of the patient, the Chelyabinsk court gave permission for the trial in absentia.
Andrey was connected toartificial lung ventilation, and could only nod his head to answer questions. Everything was recorded on videotape.
Andrey confirmed the guilt of colleague Alexander Sivyakov, agreed that he had to sit in a semi-squat for three and a half hours, and categorically denied the assumption of rape.
The prosecution demanded that sergeant Alexander Sivyakov be sentenced to six years in prison, and for privates Bilimovich and Kuzmenko - 1.5 years and 1 year, respectively.
During the trial, six witnesses changed their testimony, accusing the military prosecutor's office of putting pressure on them. Allegedly, they were beaten in order to obtain evidence against Sivyakov. Then, according to them, some generals came from Moscow and forced them to give false evidence.
Sentence
On September 26, 2006, the Chelyabinsk military court delivered the final verdict.
Alexander Sivyakov received four years in prison, was deprived of his rank and the opportunity to hold positions involving command for three years.
The remaining participants in the crime, Bilimovich and Kuzmenko, were sentenced to one year of probation.
Whether this measure of punishment is fair is a moot point. The victim's family considered her too soft, and Sivyakov's family considered her too harsh. Both of them tried to appeal against the verdict.
The Sivyakov case gained a great response and, finally, attracted the attention of society and officials to such a seriousproblem like hazing.
How to live on
After Andrei returned home, to an apartment in Yekaterinburg, which was provided to them by the Ministry of Defense by order of Putin, the question arose before the disabled guy: what next? What can a person with a disability do to live fully?
Andrey created an online diary in which he talked about himself and received comments from his readers. The guy gave the impression of a lively, sociable person. He shared with people the emotions from the books he read, the films he watched and tried to find the answer to the main question: how to live on. The photo of Andrey Sychev shows a room where everything the guy lives after the tragedy is concentrated.
The young man who communicated so easily in the virtual world was afraid to leave his apartment and meet real people. He knew that the neighbors were talking about his family, as if they were undeservedly lucky: they got an apartment for nothing.
But also on the Internet I had to meet not only friends, but also enemies. When Andrei shared his desire to go to university, he received not only words of support, but also the assertion that no one needed him there.
Andrey Sychev today
In the first time after the tragedy, the guy received increased attention, he was besieged by calls, journalists did not leave him alone. His face constantly flashed on television and in the press. Today - complete silence.
The criminals who ruined the life of a young man have long served their sentence and live life to the fullest, making plans and turning them into reality.
And Andrey has a room and a computer, which for many years after the terrible events replaced his friends. The guy does not like to remember the experience. He is silent more and more, he smiles very rarely. Only in these rare moments can you recognize the former Andryusha in him. A young man moves in a wheelchair. His mother helps him.
Of all Andrey's wishes, only one came true - a car. At first it was a used Ford with special controls. The purchase of the car brought the guy great joy. Andrei spent two years saving money from his disability pension, the missing amount was added by philanthropists.
Andrey learned computer editing, but at first not a single local television or radio company agreed to hire a disabled person. The guy worked at home as a packer of shoe covers in containers.
But in May 2011, luck smiled at him. Andrey still managed to get a job as a video editor in one of the companies.
In 2012, wanting to replace an old Ford with a Subaru Forester, Andrey turned to VTB Bank with a request for a loan. Since the guy worked and received a good salary and pension, his application was approved, but when they saw a man in a wheelchair, they immediately refused a loan. Andrew sued. He bought the car after all, taking a loan from another bank.
Apparently, the young man today does not suffer from a lack offunds, as he managed to exchange his apartment for a country cottage specially equipped for the disabled.
