A football player was born on March 19, 1964 in Leningrad. I grew up and started playing sports there. Subsequently, Sergei was able to get into the newly founded sports school "Change". After graduating, Dmitriev began to play for the Leningrad Dynamo. After spending a season in the team, he was invited to Zenit.
Zenith
The first game in the St. Petersburg club Sergei Dmitriev played in the fall of the same season, playing against "Metalist" from Kharkov. The first year on the field, the striker did not appear constantly. He began to play at the base in the 1983 season. Although he played in attack, he could not boast of a huge number of goals. He stood out on the field primarily with speed and strength, and besides, he had a fairly powerful blow. He managed to win the first title in 1984, having won the national championship with the team.
Sergey Dmitriev is a Zenit football player who was seriously injured in the 1986 season. The damage was received induring the match with Dnipro. The cause of the injury was the artificial turf of the stadium, or rather, its incorrect creation. The coating was made over a concrete base. In 1989, Dmitriev started having problems with the leadership of Zenit, and he decided to move to Dynamo Moscow. After playing in four matches, the player was injured and had to recover.
At that time, the capital's CSKA, led by Pavel Sadyrin, became interested in the services of a football player. Soon Sergei Dmitriev signed a contract with the army team. With the club, the striker rose to the first division, and in 1990 won silver in the championship.
In 1991, the player went to the second league of Spain. The contract was signed with Sherry. Instead of the usual position in the attack, the player had to stand in midfield. At the end of the season, the team was relegated to the third division and Sergey Dmitriev went back to Moscow.

After the collapse of the USSR, Sergei went to Austriaand played for the local team Stahl.
The next three years, Dmitriev played for the teams of various championships: "St. Gallen" (Switzerland), "Hapoel" (Israel), "Bekum" (Germany).
Sergey returned to his homeland in 1995 and again began to play for the St. Petersburg "Zenith".
In the 1997 season, several players of the Moscow "Spartak" were injured, and the team needed urgent help. Sergey Dmitriev went to replace the injured. Nevertheless, the Moscow team had an unsuccessful Champions League qualifying game, and the defender soon returned to St. Petersburg.
The beginning of the 1998/99 season was started with a six-month suspension. It was imposed because of the statement about the fixed match between Zenit and Spartak, which was made by Sergei Dmitriev. The player's photo was then in almost all sports publications.
Subsequently, the player spent a year in St. Petersburg "Dynamo" and went to Smolensk, where he played for the football club "Crystal".

For the USSR national team, the footballer played six matches and scored once. He was also able to play one game on the Olympic team. In 2004-2005 served as a mentor at Anji. Then there were the teams of Spartak (NN) and Petrotrest. In 2007 he returned to Dynamo. In 2015, he fulfilled the obligations of the mentor of the Sakhalin youth team. At the beginning of 2016, he was appointed to the post of coach at the Tosno youth club.
Private life
Sergey Dmitriev was married twice. The first wife is the former wife of a Zenit teammate. There is a son, Alexei, who is also a football player and trained for some time under the guidance of his father.
Sergey Dmitriev can be called one of the best players in the "Zenith" (1982-1988). The career of a football player was largely spoiled by a serious injury, which subsequently reminded of itself more than once. After moving from Zenit, the player could not find an ideal team for himself and traveled a lot to the championships not only in Russia, but also in Europe. Dmitriev's coaching career has not yet worked out either. He mostly lingers briefly in teams.
