The Golovinsky district is located in the north of Moscow and, according to official data, was formed in October 1995. Up to this point, it has gone through an interesting and complex history of formation, so today it can rightfully be called the Golovinsky Administrative District. Today, its area is about nine square kilometers, which significantly exceeds the original figure.
Formerly a village
Like many others, the Golovinsky district originated from an ordinary, unremarkable village. What the village was originally called is unknown today, however, there are suggestions that the name was associated with the word "head" (given the modern version). In ancient times in Russia, this word was called the beginning of something: a river, a ravine or a stream.
Closer to the nineteenth century, the area acquired a slightly different name - Khovrino. There is reason to believe that it was associated with some cultural figures. There were about one hundred and thirty households in the village, in which, as the census showed, less than a thousand peasants lived. Their main occupation was agriculture. They sowed oats, rye, wheat and barley. Despite the hard work and the almost complete lack of free time, they lived very poorly. Since the landlords did not believe that their workers needed education, most of the peasants were not literate.
First steps towards development
But everything changed in 1869 when the local priest insisted on opening a school. Children began to go to school, develop, and there was hope that their future would be at least a little different from the real parents. Naturally, the landowners accepted this innovation without much enthusiasm, however, they did not argue with the priest, since they themselves were quite religious. In the 1920s, the Soviet Union also reached the village of Khovrino. Agricultural partnerships and cooperatives began to actively form.
USSR influence
Collective farms called "Red Star", "Red Banner", "The Path to Socialism" appeared. It was already a full-fledged system of managing the economy with its own chairman. Around the same time, the first village councils began to exist. At first, the village council included several villages and farms, so the supervision of them was often entrusted to several leaders.
In 1950, the collective farm in Khovrino was significantly enlarged, and ten years later it already entered the Belokamennaya line. Since then, a large-scale housingconstruction. Since the village became part of Moscow, it has changed significantly, only the ponds and the Golovinskoe highway reminded of the former Golovino. The name of the area also contains the ancient and fascinating history of the village.

Fifty industrial enterprises have been conducting their active production activities for several years now. It is here that you can find the country's first museum of fishing and hunting.
Modern symbolism of the area is of considerable interest. The coat of arms depicts the head of an ancient Russian warrior in a silver helmet. Perhaps this is partly due to the name of the area. The Golovinsky district of Moscow is famous for its ponds, which are located north of the Golovinsky stream. This beautiful system of ponds, the main of which has an area of just under eight hectares. In the southeast, there is a beautiful operating boat station, which used to belong to the Mikhalkovo estate.
Administration and infrastructure

But still, some remain dissatisfied with the attitude of officials towards the common people. Residents demand justice and improvement. Despite this, it is impossible not to notice that the area has a fairly developed infrastructure.
