Born April 14, 1954 in Brownsville, Texas. Bruce spent most of his childhood in Galveston, Texas. At the age of fifteen, he moved with his family to India, where his father began working on a fertilizer plant project. Bruce Sterling traveled around this breathtaking country for a long time. This explains his love for Indian culture and Bollywood cinema.
In 1976 he graduated from the University of Texas, and a year later he published the first science fiction story "Ocean of Involution". In it, the author describes a gloomy planet whose inhabitants are in some kind of general delusion, abusing drugs.
But became famous for hosting the annual parties in Austin, where he brilliantly presented digital art.
Unique genre
Sterling Bruce publishes a number of fantastic works (the most famous "Schismatrix") under the pseudonym Vincent Omniaveritas, which in Latin means "truth conquers all." These stories were part of the larger cyberpunk genre. Bruce worked on its development with such brilliant authors as Rudy Rooker, William Gibson and John Shirley.
Despite the fact that his cyberpunk in 1988 was declared dead and boring by many critics, Sterling continued to write about future technologies and its impact on humans. He was involved in the formation of a unique media project for the study of outdated forms of media. The science fiction writer predicted that paper would never disappear, as it is a great storage option that does not require batteries. He also confidently stated that the Internet would turn into something radically unexpected.

He founded special movements and organizations to educate people about the environmental dangers of consumer life.
