Vilyuchinsk is most likely not a city with a population of just over 25 thousand people, but an association of naval bases located near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Its entire territory is a closed zone with its own infrastructure: schools, kindergartens and Christian churches.

Slightly to the west of it (25 kilometers) is the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and to the north (26 km) is Yelizovo Airport. The population is just over 24.5 thousand people (2005 census). In 1996, this figure was of greater importance - 37.4 thousand inhabitants. The main part of the population is military personnel with their families.

Geographically, the city of Vilyuchinsk is divided into three separate microdistricts located at some distance from each other. This is:

  • the largest in terms of area Primorsky "sleeping" district;
  • Selevaya - submarine docking area;
  • the area of the former Rybachy village.

Today, nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation are based in this area, which is part of the city of Vilyuchinsk. Until 1994, this was Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky-53.

Today Rybachy village of Kamchatka, which is a residential area of Vilyuchinsk, differs slightly from the "main" city in its landscapes. The streets are mostly serpentine, and all the buildings are arranged in a cascade pattern.

Nature of the edge

Rybachy village (Kamchatka, Vilyuchinsk-3) is the place where submariners and their families live. There are no geysers or active volcanoes in the vicinity of the settlement, however, there is an amazingly beautiful Pacific coast - Stanitsky and Bezymyannaya bays, which take about an hour or two to reach. Not far away is Salvation Bay, where an amazing phenomenon is observed in mid-June - the spawning of uik (capelin). There are also two lakes here: Vilyui and Sarannaya.

From the tops of the Golgotha, Stolovaya, Bolshoy and Maly Koldun, and Vysoka mountains, wonderful views of the volcanoes of Kamchatka and the endless expanses of the Pacific Ocean open up. It should be noted that in recent years the roads in Kamchatka have also changed for the better.

Attractions

The road leading to thiscorner of Kamchatka (the photo of the Fishing Village clearly demonstrates this) delights with the magnificence of the surrounding nature.

The water area of Krasheninnikov Bay is amazingly beautiful. In addition to various natural landscapes (forests, hills, volcanoes, ravines, picturesque cliffs and bays), you can see many man-made attractions here. These are open and closed docks, marinas with real submarines and tugboats. And the whole village of Rybachy looks great. All this can be seen by getting to the village on a regular bus (the journey is 25 kilometers).

In the late 90s of the XX century, Orthodox churches were built on the territory of Vilyuchinsk: St. Apostle Andrew the First-Called (the only such garrison plan in the entire Far East) and St. Seraphim of Sarov. The second to this day keeps the bells of the warships Siberia, Chazhma, Spassk, Chukotka, Sakhalin and Chumikan.

In conclusion

It should be noted that the city of Vilyuchinsk, which includes the village of Rybachy (Kamchatka), is known not only for its secrecy, but also for its rather ancient history of development. The first settlements on the site of this town arose 3 thousand years ago. They were located on the isthmus between Mirror Lake and the bay. It was in this place that as a result of archaeological excavations, parking lots were discovered. It turns out that the history of settlements does not begin in 1968, but much earlier. It is known that the first mention of this place as a settlement was found in the diary of S. P. Krasheninnikov. It is dated March 1739.

These places have long been inhabited by the indigenous people of the Kamchatka Peninsula, whose ancestors lived here during the Ice Age and the Stone Age. On the territory of Vilyuchinsk and its environs, archaeologists discovered 7 Itelmen sites. Their culture dates back to 2000 BC. e. – 1000th anniversary of our era.
