Not so long ago, namely on April 30, 2012, near the Kuban State University, a monument to Lidochka and Shurik was erected in Krasnodar. The heroes of L. Gaidai's film "Operations Y" and other adventures of Shurik, popular in Soviet times, are a gift for all Russian students. The idea to establish an architectural monument belongs to the governor of the region, whose name is A. Tkachev. What does the monument to Lidochka and Shurik look like in Krasnodar, and what is its history? We will talk about this in our article.
The plot of the novel
The sculpture was created in the image and likeness of the main characters from the beloved short story "Obsession", which is part of "Operation Y". In addition to this story, the humorous comedy film consists of the short story “Construction” and “Operation Y”. All of them are united by one main character - a rustic, but resourceful and resilient student Shurik.
According to the plot of the novel, a session is coming at the Polytechnic Institute. On the last day before the important exam, Shurik (played by the Soviet artist Alexander Demyanenko) rereads the notes in the hands of an unfamiliar girl, following her on the heels. Students have neither time nor opportunity to pay attention to each other, as they are completely and completely absorbed in the upcoming exam.
After the session, Shurik's friend named Petya introduces him to the girl Lida (played by Natalya Selezneva), who turns out to be the same student with the abstract. Sympathy arises between young people.
After getting to know each other better, Lida invites a new acquaintance to visit her, where Shurik realizes that there are a lot of familiar things in this apartment for him. The guys begin to conduct a scientific experiment to detect parapsychological abilities in Shurik, which, to the surprise of both, ends with a kiss.
History of the monument to Shurik and Lidochka in Krasnodar
The location of the new sculpture was chosen for a reason. Shurik and Lida are a symbol of successful learning from students. The monument was created over the course of six months by about ten people, including talented sculptors, architects and foundry workers from Krasnodar, as well as Rostov-on-Don.
According to the plan of the sculptor, Lidochka quickly walks along the sidewalk, rereading the notes, and Shurik looks over her shoulder to also repeat the material covered and thus prepare for the exam. True, the sculptors decided to leave the abstract pages blank. However, for 6years, there were "kind" townspeople who periodically stick a variety of reading material to eternally young students.
There is a monument to Shurik and Lidochka at the address: Krasnodar, Kanevsky district, Krasnaya street, just not far from the establishment of the Kuban Technological University.
Description of the monument to Shurik and Lidochka in Krasnodar
The sculpture is completely made of bronze. Despite the fact that the monument to Lidochka and Shurik in Krasnodar weighs about 300 kilograms, it is slightly higher than human height, namely 185 centimeters. The characters stand without a pedestal, so it's easy to take pictures with them.
Shurik and Lidochka were created by popular contemporary sculptors V. Pchelin and A. Karnaev. The sculpture was made in human height with the aim that every person passing by could look over the shoulders of the characters into the abstract. The only difference from the picture is that Lida and Shurik are standing on a closed hatch. Otherwise, all the details are kept to the smallest detail.
