The name of Bernard Kaznev is well known in the international political arena. He began his career in the nineties of the last century and to this day is a significant figure in French politics. From April 2014 to December 2016, Bernard Cazeneuve served as Minister of the Interior. As a close associate of Francois Hollande, he was appointed Prime Minister of France. But he stayed in this post for only 5 months: from December 2016 to mid-May 2017.
Young years of politics
The parents of the now famous politician came from Algeria. They left their homeland as the war for independence began there. The choice of France as a country for emigration was not accidental, since the parents were of French origin. Bernard Cazeneuve was born on June 2, 1963 in the city of Senlis, which is located in the Hauts-de-France region. His father Gerard was a socialist party activist.
When Bernard Kaznev was 10 years old, he first attended a political event - a rally by Francois Mitterrand. This happened in the city of Crey, where the Kaznev family moved in the late 60s. His father was a teacher at the Jean Biondi School. Bernard also studied here. He studied further at the school named after Descartes. After that there was the Havez College and the Lycée Jules Ury. He received his higher education at the Institute of Political Studies (Bordeaux). Upon graduation, he served as a legal adviser.
During his student days, he was the head of the Movement of the Radical Left (1983) in Gironde, a department located in the southwestern part of France.
Professional activities
Bernard Kaznev's track record is quite large:
- From 1991 to 1993 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Held various posts.
- During 1994-1998 he was General Counsel in the Manche department.
- Bernard Cazeneuve managed to be mayor (1995-2012). Initially, he held this post in the city of Octeville - Manche department. Then, since 2001, he was the mayor of Cherbourg-Octeville, after the unification of the communes took place.
- He was a member of the National Assembly from 1997 to 2002. After that, he was re-elected twice more - in 2007, and also in 2012.
- Worked in the government of Jean-Marco Herault (2012-2013) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Was a junior minister.
- Since April 2013, he has been a junior budget minister. Held this post for one year.
Was appointedMinister of the Interior April 2, 2014. Manuel Valls was the current prime minister. Held this position until December 2016.

After Manuel Valls decided to run for president, he resigned as prime minister. And already on December 6, 2016, a person from the government was appointed to this position - Minister Bernard Kaznev.
The new prime minister has been in office for just over 5 months. In early February, he announced that he did not intend to participate in the parliamentary elections, which were to be held in June 2017.
What do you remember about Kaznev's premiership? In March, protests took place in the overseas department of Guiana. In connection with these events, Bernard Kazneuve made a statement that a specially created interdepartmental commission, the purpose of which is to resolve the socio-economic problems of this region, will go there only if public order is restored. Already on April 5, the government approved investment projects aimed at solving the problems of the overseas department. Funds in the amount of 1.86 billion euros were allocated, part of which was intended to strengthen law enforcement and penitentiary structures. After negotiations between the authorities and the leaders of the protest movements, on April 21, it was decided to additionally allocate 2.1 billion euros to this region.
In April, after the loss of the representative of the Socialist Party onpresidential elections was predetermined, Kaznev was instructed to start preparing the party bloc for participation in the parliamentary elections, which were held in June 2017.
End of political career
After Macron's victory in the presidential election, Bernard Cazeneuve resigned as prime minister. 5 days later (May 15, 2017) this post was taken by Edouard Philippe.
Retiring from politics, Bernard went into private law practice, opening his own bureau. He also wrote the book Every Day Counts and traveled around France in the fall of 2017 for a promotion.
Family
Little is known about the politician's personal life. With his wife Veronica Bernard Kaznev has two children. For a while, the couple were divorced, but in 2015 they got back together. The secret remarriage ceremony took place on August 12 in Aegina.
