Khor in the language of the local people (Udege) is translated as "hell" due to the steep temper of the river - during the period of prolonged summer rains, the water in the reservoir can suddenly rise, leading to flooding of the banks.

Features

Due to the fact that the reservoir originates from the slopes of the Sikhote-Alin ridge, the nature here is very picturesque and wild. The flora and fauna in these places is quite diverse. On the banks of the Khor River in the Khabarovsk Territory, one can meet red deer - one of the subspecies of the red deer. In the summer heat, roe deer and red deer hide in the water to escape annoying horseflies.

Right in front of the boats, flocks of wild ducks with ducklings can safely swim. Here you can meet pheasants, hazel grouses and woodcocks. To the delight of fishermen, lenok and taimen live in the waters of the river, reaching a weight of up to 20-50 kg. Local fishermen have chosen small pebble islands, where there are plums for catching another valuable fish - grayling.

Previously, timber was rafted in this area, hence the names of some settlements: the Second rafting section, the Third rafting section, etc.

Even children over the age of 10 can participate in river routes. Rafting is organized downstream for small groups, which are providedwith all the necessary equipment. For accommodation on the route, three-person tents are set up with accommodation for two people; for meals, a group tent with camping furniture is used. Food during the trip is cooked on gas equipment or on a fire. River water is used for its preparation and drinking - it is so pure that it is quite suitable for this.

Rafting is done on an inflatable raft with an outboard motor. In the process of traveling along the river, tourists take part in the management of the vessel at will. A cook and a guide participate in the route together with the group.
