There was a truck with explosives near the nine-story high-rise building. In what year there was a terrorist attack in Volgodonsk, we know very well. Let's take a look at the details. The explosion of the vehicle and its contents claimed the lives of 18 people. 89 victims were sent to the hospital.
How events unfolded
The attacks in Moscow and Volgodonsk were a frequent and unpleasant phenomenon of that time and took place in the early autumn of 1999. Investigators point to the following: these atrocities were carried out on the initiative and at the expense of an organization that called itself the Caucasian Institute. Through the fault of the Islamic figures Emir al-Khattab and Abu Umar, who led the bloody operation, an incident occurred, now known to us as a terrorist attack in Volgodonsk.
The purpose of the crimes was the mass destruction of civilians in order to intimidate the innocent, put pressure on and influence the authorities responsible for eliminating the destruction created after the invasion of combat units into the territory of Dagestan (took place at the end of the summer of the same year).
The attackers who committed the terrorist act in Volgodonsk were in contact with the leaders of the Muslim society number 3, also called Wahhabijamaat. This organization brought a lot of evil at that time. The local chairman assembled a group, whose hands eventually created a terrorist attack in Volgodonsk. The name of the evil figure was Achimez Gochiyaev. In the past, he traded construction products in the capital of Russia. Then Wahhabi ideas crept into his mind. The businessman left the capital of Russia and studied in Karachaevsk with residents of the Khattab camp.
Making deadly weapons
The explosives that brought the terrorist attack to Volgodonsk (1999) were made by the manufacturers of the plant for the production of fertilizer mixtures on the territory of Urus-Martan. They put some TNT, ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder and sugar into their weapons.
The explosive mixture was presented as sugar when transported to the territory of Kislovodsk to the base with food. The people who committed the terrorist attack in Volgodonsk drove to the land of the city with the permission of the traffic police officer Lyubichev.
Upon arrival, the mixture was packaged under the guise of bags of sugar, the surface of which contained the logo of the plant in Erken Shahar. When the plan was drawn up, the villains divided into groups and carried the killer mixture to a number of settlements in Russia.
On the 13th of September, a local resident, an Azerbaijani by roots, being unaware of the intentions of the criminals, met people who were planning to commit a terrorist act in Volgodonsk. They bought a car from a man with the false intention of delivering potatoes. It was decided to postpone the paperwork for the sale and purchase until a later time. GAZ-53, which brought the terrorist attack to Volgodonsk (1999), stood next to the convoyNo. 2070. Explosives were loaded into the car and a device was installed, which was hidden under the potatoes.
Preparing for an explosion
One of the intruders named Dekushev brought the former owner of the car on September 15 to the convoy to transport the car near Oktyabrskoye Highway. This was to help me arrive in time for the potato market in the morning. At the end of the working day, documents were to be drawn up for the transfer of ownership to the new owner.
The car was parked at the entrance. Iskanderov remained to guard her while the terrorist drove off. The vehicle was parked outside the house all night.
At 6 am there was an explosion, the car took off into the air. If we take as a basis a comparison with the TNT equivalent, the explosive device had 1-1.5 thousand kilograms of power. The front part and two residential blocks were demolished by the blast wave. A total of just under forty houses were damaged. The glasses flew off. The whole area rose to its ears, hearing a loud explosion. The rubble became a grave for eighteen people. The total number of victims is 15 thousand. Over 1,000 of them were children.
Litigation in court
In 2003, a corrupt official, police officer Lyubichev, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Bribery, despite the driver's lack of required documentation, is the essence of the charge. Even the transport was not working properly, but this did not embarrass the police officer.
In 2004, another sentence was handed down. Adam Dekkushev and Yusuf Krymshamkhalov went to prison for life. They bear the burden of a series of terrorist attacks.
Appeal filed by G. Seleznev
On September 13, the year of the ill-fated incident, Gennady Seleznev, who held a seat in the Council of the State Duma, issued a statement saying that an explosion had occurred in a residential building in Rostov-on-Don at night.
According to Vladimir Zhirinovsky, there is obviously a discrepancy here. Indeed, on Monday, Seleznev reported on the explosion, which actually occurred only three days later. That is, the thunder reached the ears of the statesman before he saw the thunderstorm. There are all signs of a provocation. The member of the State Duma knew about the attack even earlier than the employees of the administration in Rostov. So where did he get the information from? And why was no action taken?
In October, there was news in the press that the deputies sat idly by for four days, while a terrible sabotage was being prepared in Volgodonsk.
Seleznev explained himself. He said that he had received a note that spoke about the explosion that occurred on Sunday. And it was already followed by the next misfortune on the territory of the Rostov region.
Tribute to the memory of the dead
The authorities paid their last respects to the innocent victims of the attack. The city cemetery keeps a monument dedicated to this terrible event on its territory. Relatives of the victims and simply caring people can honor their memory ina special square consecrated as a sign of sorrow.
City Cemetery 2 is the last refuge for the explosion dead in this world. Those sections of the houses that suffered the most were dismantled, the rest were restored and reconstructed. Now a new seven-story building stands on the site of the atrocity.
Life continues to flow as usual, but the knowledge of the event reminds us of how harmful human impulses can be and how important it is to live in peace.
