The modern Armed Forces of Russia were created on May 7, 1992 on the basis of the former Armed Forces of the USSR. At that time, the number of Army personnel was about 2,900,000 people. The staffing of the Russian Federation at that time is established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

History of the creation of the Russian Army

January 15, 1918 (28th according to the old calendar) V. I. Lenin signed a decree on the organization of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. After the Red Workers 'and Peasants' Fleet was created.
