First successes

However, Anatoly Mateshko did not find time for filming, so Podgorny became Smuglyanka. The acting career of the young man did not develop, he was assigned mainly secondary roles. Most often, Anatoly had to play positive characters, he embodied the images of ideological fighters, saviors of the motherland, talented athletes. In the role of a scoundrel, he was not seen, which caused him regret. Mateshko himself considers his main achievement as an actor to be his participation in the drama "A Strict Man's Life", the creator of which is Grannik.
If Anatoly did not achieve significant success as an actor, then his very first directorial experiments were received positively by the public. His first short film was released in 1983, called "Then the war will end." It was followed almost immediately by the second work - "Black Pit", which unexpectedly earned the main award at the All-Union Film Festival.
