Childhood

Maharbek Khazbievich Khadartsev was born on October 2, 1964. His homeland is the North Ossetian SSR within the USSR, namely the small village of Suadag in the Alagir region. This is a very small village, about a thousand people live in it, but it gave the world such a great man. He was the youngest son in the family, the eldest - Aslan Khadartsev - a famous wrestler, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Honored Coach of the USSR and a three-time world champion.

Education

In 1981 he became a law student in Tashkent, where his brother Aslan lived and trained. Makharbek Khadartsev graduated from Tashkent State University, received a degree in law, then returned to Ossetia and received a higher economic education inNorth Ossetian State University (SOGU). In 1998 he became a candidate of economic sciences, having defended his dissertation at Moscow State University.

Sports career

Maharbek's first coach was his older brother.

Until September 2014, he was busy in the State Duma. Since September 2014 and until now, he has been the mayor of the city of Vladikavkaz.

• Russian wrestler Maharbek Khadartsev and Georgian wrestler Eldar Kurtanidze met in the final of the 1995 European Championship. Both of them were already titled athletes, but our compatriot showed an amazing result,decomposing the opponent with an indecent score for the final - 19:1. Then the gold of the European Championship, of course, was given to Maharbek.
• At the World Championships in Budapest in 1986, Khadartsev had a very successful tournament. He not only won all the fights, but also did not lose even one point to any of the opponents. Then Mairbek is a 21-year-old law student in Tashkent. Then two more of his compatriots distinguished themselves with the same result of “dry” victories. This is the elder brother of Maharbek, Aslan, and another famous wrestler - Arsen Fadzaev. The opponents failed to perform a single move against them!

• Gold medal in Japan in 1990 Khadartsev won without his coach - older brother. Aslan died in the spring of that year. Got into a car accident, in a hurry to the airport. He was driving his car when it crashed into KamAZ at full speed. Aslan died on the spot. He was only 29 years old, but he had already achieved great results in sports. And I would have won more than one medal, but I did not have time. His brother continued his work.
• I was preparing to compete at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, but then, with an equal score, the judges gave preference to the young Adam Saitiev. Maharbek was already 35. Then he competed at the Olympic Games, but under the flag of Uzbekistan. But he took only 14th place.
• Maharbek Khadartsev took part in the Olympic Games four times, and all 4 times in the teams of different countries. In 1988 - the USSR national team, in 1992 - the United Team, in 1996 - the national team of the Russian Federation, 2000 - the national teamUzbekistan.
• At one of the championships, at the awards ceremony, a little boy presented Khadartsev with a small bouquet of flowers. Then the wrestler lifted this child and placed it on a pedestal next to him… Very touching… This is exactly how the continuity of generations should look like. This is deeply symbolic. As long as there are such Khadartsevs, there is a future for the growing boys. And not just in sports.
