Kord assault rifle is one of the latest developments of the legendary Degtyarev plant located in the city of Kovrov. For many years now, various models of weapons have been coming off the conveyors of this enterprise, supplied to the armament of the troops of the Russian Federation and exported abroad.

In fact, the machine is still nameless. "Kord" -conditional name, an abbreviation that stands for "Kovrov gunsmiths-Degtyarevtsy". In addition to the machine gun, the family with this name includes other types of weapons.
New bolt design
Creating an automaton with minimal returns was the main goal of engineers and designers. For this, the experience of many gunsmiths was worked out. The task was achieved. For this, a fundamentally new design of the shutter was developed, on which a special balancer was installed. Reduced recoil greatly reduces the impact on the gunner's shoulder.
How does the system work? The added balancer corresponds in weight to the entire bolt group. When a shot occurs, under the pressure of the powder gases that have appeared, the pistons and the balancer frames begin to move simultaneously, and the movement occurs in opposite directions. The speeds are the same. Due to this movement, the impulses cancel each other out.
What does it give? As a result, the Kord submachine gun does not shake at all in the hands of the shooter even at the moment of firing in bursts. The butt does not hit the shoulder. This affects not only the fact that the shooter is less tired, but also the accuracy. According to the developers, it is twice as good as the standard.
A patent for the invention of a new system for suppressing shot pulses currently belongs to Russian design engineers. The technology is still not used by gunsmiths in any other country in the world.
Automatic ammo

As for the enemy personnel, the Kord rifle, the optics of which, like on a machine gun, can be replaced with a more advanced one, is capable of inflicting serious damage even to those who are wearing personal protective equipment. In this case, the enemy can even be at a distance of one and a half kilometers from the sniper. The rifle is designed only for single shots, the supply of cartridges comes from a five-shot frame. This weapon is loaded with cartridges of 12.7 mm caliber, its total length reaches 1.4 meters. For the convenience of the shooter, the rifle is equipped with regular bipods, which can be easily expanded and folded.

Kord heavy machine gun
The release of the machine gun started in 2007. Since then, this weapon has managed to show what it is capable of, not only in field trials, but also in real life.war. To challenge the most legendary "Kalash" - this does not happen every day. For all the years of its existence, the Kalashnikov assault rifle has not acquired a single serious competitor. Nowhere in the world, gunsmiths have yet been able to create a model that not only surpasses it in some indicators, but at least equals it in wear resistance, reliability in combat, and durability. This weapon has been faithfully serving the Russian soldier for decades. However, it also serves soldiers from many other countries with the same success.
The intention of the manufacturer is not only to replenish the range of weapons of the Russian Federation. In fact, there is a more ambitious plan: the Kord assault rifle should become part of the famous Ratnik equipment. The Kalashnikov Concern and the Degtyarev Kovrov Arms Plant are currently fighting for the right to manufacture new-style assault rifles for Russian soldiers. After all the tests are completed, a special commission will decide which of the machines will be put into service.

Under secret conditions, not only the development of Kord took place, but also the creation of its main competitor - the AK-12 assault rifle. It was presented to the world back in 2012, and was put into service in 2014. According to the developers, the new weapon has undergone a number of changes aimed at improving the technical characteristics and providing maximum comfort for the shooter.

Therefore, many gunsmiths are inclined to the idea that it is time to give the green light to new weapons, while not forgetting about the brilliant developments of Kalashnikov, relying on them in the future.
