Museums in Perm can be proud of their employees. They employ 908 people. Six people have an academic degree, most of them have higher education, the rest have received a specialized secondary education. Many have over 10 years of experience.

Opening a branch

The Museum of Local Lore (Perm) dates back to 1890. During its existence, it has changed its location several times. But from 2007 to this day, the Meshkov House has been its main building. Meshkov was a major local entrepreneur and philanthropist. He purchased the building in 1886. According to the project of the architect A. B. Turchevich, restoration was carried out, as a result of which the building takes on a modern look and is one of the most beautiful mansions of old Perm. It has an exhibition thatdedicated to the history of the Perm region.

The Museum of Local Lore (Perm) recently opened a new branch, it happened in 2011. It was conceived in 2009, as part of the famous cultural revolution of the city, which was just beginning to move. And today the Museum of Perm Antiquities invites everyone to follow the path of evolution - from the origin of life on the planet to the era of mammals.

Perm land kept a large number of ancient burials, which made a significant contribution not only to domestic paleontology, but also to the world. Therefore, the collected collections of the Perm Territory are priceless. The exhibition was opened exactly on the land of the historical homeland of these finds, as it should be, because Perm is the only city that is forever inscribed in world geology and paleontology.

"Night of Museums" in Perm was held for the eighth time. This name is very conditional, since all events took place in the evening, from 18:00. Museums of Perm met their audience with a wide program, which ended with festive fireworks. What could be more romantic than a night spent with dinosaurs?

Let's go to them. The first museum hall is called "Paleocontact". There are many children here, there are noticeably more of them than adults, they are perfectly oriented in what is happening, they act boldly and look with curiosity, they also create crafts and draw in the "Primitive Illustrator's Workshop". Looking at our guys, you involuntarily think that the children of ancient people must have beenthe same fearless and mobile. And if they met in some parallel world, they would surely find a common language.

Permian geological period

A crowd of children gathered outside the "Library of Paleontological Discoveries" to read aloud. The boy in a confident voice tells a story about great scientists, ancient beings, travels, unknown lands, about the Permian geological period, which is the only one in the history of our Earth that has a Russian name. Everyone discovered it with delight and surprise. Further we learn that it began 299 million years ago and lasted 50 million years. At that time, instead of our six, there was only one supercontinent, and around it stretched a huge ocean - Panthalassa. We are trying to learn, feel and understand everything that happened on our planet in the distant past.

Terrifying exhibits rise above visitors. One can imagine that this very place is now a wild forest of that time, which is teeming with herbivorous lizards, scutosaurs, amphibians, kamakops, animal-like reptiles, leafosaurs, and you are small and defenseless. Moving on, we finally see the mammoth. Not far from him is his cub - cute mammoth Dima, a copy of the same mammoth that was found in the Magadan region in 1977.

How did the ancient animals feel?

Exhibition organizer Natalya Afanasyeva says that paleontology evokes memories of creatures that lived in ancient timeson our Earth. Revives in the memory of those who are no longer with us, and those who live today. The basis of this exhibition is the memory of the planet's past. It has been preserved in fossils, minerals, books about discoveries in paleontology. With these tools, we are trying to recreate a complete picture of that time: what were the ancient animals, what did they feel, what was their environment, what was nature like at that time?

A large team is currently working on this: musicians who play authentic ethnic instruments, animators, moderators of the audiovisual performance "Voices of the Earth and Wind". It is they who embody this fantasy.

Are the exhibits alive?

The Museum of Perm Antiquities sounds. The voices of visitors merge with the song of the flute, with the ringing of Tibetan bowls, the dull beats of the drum, something vibrates and clicks. Looking and listening, one can distinguish the rustle of plants and the whisper of the wind, reflections of light and shadows of strange creatures. Dinosaurs hear and feel it all with us, feeling our presence as well.

Continuation of life

One of the creators of the performance "Voices of the Earth and Wind" Alexei Khoroshev says that people come to the Museum of Perm Antiquities (Perm) to look at ordinary bones. But this is not just the remaining memory of the animals that once inhabited our planet. Bones are evidence of evolution. They prove that we are a continuation of life. It does not disappear and is scattered everywhere, breathes, makes sounds, glows, flows from one form to another.

Any place has the ability to accumulateenergy, and if light music sounded there, then it is necessarily positive. And if good people gather, then it turns into a place of accumulation of power. So says a philosopher.

The Museum of Perm Antiquities says goodbye to us. The street, meeting with rain, awakens with reality. But Permians and guests of the city will imprint in the minds of huge majestic creatures that left planet Earth about 65 million years ago.
