The Sverdlovsk Philharmonic is a cultural treasure of the city. Posters are constantly replenished with big names. The Philharmonic building has an interesting history. Keeping up with the times, it has become one of the musical centers of the country.

A bit of history

In 1913, the city authorities announced a competition for the best club building in the city. Won the project of Konstantin Babykin. This is how the new Business Club appeared, with a facade in the Art Nouveau style and a concert hall. In 1915, the first stone was laid for construction, and in 1920 the building was completely ready.

For a decade, the Business Club has become a theater venue. In 1934, the building hosted the first symphony concert. In 1936, instead of the Business Club, the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic was created. In the same year, on September 29, its first season opened. Over time, a global restructuring of the organization began.

European models and American methods have become new information and management technologies being introduced into academic art. The Philharmonic of Sverdlovsk – is the first organization in Russia to receive recognition of the year. From that moment she wasawarded an academic title. The Philharmonic was included in the cultural heritage of the region.

In the 60s. many new works have appeared. The Sverdlovsk Orchestra became the first interpreter of Ural composers and musical classics. Fruitful cooperation came out with the choirs of the country. The names of modern foreign composers began to appear more and more often in the programs.

In the 70s. thanks to the philharmonic society, Sverdlovsk confirmed its reputation as one of the major musical centers of the country. During these years, the names of creative personalities appeared on posters: G. Rozhdestvensky, M. Shostakovich, G. Kremer and many others. The Sverdlovsk Philharmonic gained fame not only thanks to famous guests, but also due to its own tours around the country.

In the late 80s. began the development of international contacts. A Russian-American program appeared, within the framework of which many cultural events are still taking place. American conductors and soloists take part in them. Then a new movement appeared with the addition of concerts with thematic exhibitions, creative meetings and various competitions. Listeners had the opportunity to get acquainted with the works of new authors and genres.

History of the orchestra

The orchestra, on the basis of which the Philharmonic was created, appeared two years earlier. Then a young conductor Mark Paverman, who graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, arrived in the capital of the Urals. He organized the Sverdlovsk Symphony Orchestra and became its leader. It included the musicians of the radio committeeand the Opera and Ballet Theatre. The first concert took place on April 9, 1934

First seasons of the Philharmonic

The initial seasons reflected the general atmosphere of the 30s. The desire for something new, the unknown, a creative upsurge - all this was offered to connoisseurs of music by the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic. The poster was full of the names of famous artists: Antonina Nezhdanova, Ksenia Derzhinskaya, etc. Young musicians also performed: Berta Marantz, students of Heinrich Neuhaus and many others.

Participation in the concert programs of famous artists contributed to the education of the young team. The repertoire, in addition to classical works, was replenished with more modern works. In the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic the orchestra was one of the first to perform symphonies by Prokofiev, Khachaturian and others. Works by many Ural composers were performed.

Chief work of the Philharmonic

In the 40s. The Sverdlovsk Philharmonic, whose subscriptions sold out with a bang, has become a musical island of Ural life. Throughout history, the team devoted a lot of time to patronage work. The first branch of the Philharmonic Society was established in the countryside - in Aramil. At concerts, the hall was always full.

In wartime, the artists carried out patronage work in the army, speaking at campaign centers, in hospitals and military units. The Sverdlovsk Philharmonic has repeatedly received the highest marks for its work. Creativity grew every year.

Philharmonia today

Now the Philharmonic can boast of the largestbody. He is followed not only by eminent Russian artists, but also by their foreign colleagues. In 2014, the organ was modernized. In recent years, the Philharmonic has initiated many large-scale federal projects. For example, the Eurasia festival, which brings together talented performers from all over the world.

The Symphony Forum has become a meeting place for Russian orchestras. The Baku Festival is a nominal event of B. Berezovsky. For the first time in Russia, it was in the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic that a festival of piano duets was held. As a result, the life of Yekaterinburg is significantly and constantly enriched with the cultural offers of the capital level.

The Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic conducts approximately 2,000 concerts annually in one season: 200 performances in the large hall, the rest - in seven branches in different cities of the Sverdlovsk region. The Philharmonic also gives concerts in schools, kindergartens and universities in Yekaterinburg.

In March 2017, the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic will delight art connoisseurs with the opening of the Bach-fest festival, which will take place on the 1st of the month. Further, different programs will be presented every day. For example, on March 2, there will be a concert of an instrumental trio, author's interpretations of Bach's works, which the listener will hear in an unusual sound.

March 5 will be a children's concert. On the 16th, Sergey Dudinsky will give a concert. In the first part of the program, romances will be performed, and in the second -foreign and domestic pop hits. And this is not all interesting musical masterpieces for the spring.

Philharmonia offers subscription system. For example, "Musical ABC" is intended for listeners from 6 to 8 years old. Subscription price - 1500 rubles. "Orchestra Guide" is intended for visiting children from 10 years old. Subscription price - 1100 rubles. Separately, there are concerts for older children and the whole family, for example, "Organ Hour". Subscription price - from 1000 rubles.

The "Music for the Soul" series sells out very quickly. There are subscriptions that cost from 10 thousand rubles, for example, the Major League. Spivakov's best works are collected at these concerts. The Philharmonic offers more than a hundred types of subscriptions with different prices.
